Will The Porn Professor Be Brought to Justice?

Barb Wire

University of California-Santa Barbara Associate Professor Mireille Miller-Young appeared to start a riot against some young pro-life women who were protesting in a designated campus free speech zone.  The professor forcibly took away a protest sign and subsequently assaulted one of the women, a minor no less.  Much of this story was caught on video!

Dr. Miller-Young teaches feminist studies, with an emphasis on black women in pornography from a feminist perspective.  She is a self-described porn scholar.  A body of her work is titled “A Taste for Brown Sugar.”  Welcome to the halls of taxpayer-financed academia in 2014!

How ironic is it that a professor in the feminist studies department of the university would be facing assault charges related to her violent reaction to some young women who were engaged in a sanctioned protest against abortion on campus?  The young ladies who were attacked were on campus to convince anyone who would listen that abortion in America is a form of holocaust.

The police report of the incident includes charges against Miller-Young for allegedly having committed vandalism, battery and robbery on campus against these young women, who were engaged in an otherwise peaceful pro-life protest.  The police report’s account of Miller-Young’s version of the facts tells me this woman is completely out of touch with not only the real world, but also with the heritage and foundation of both the civil rights and feminist movements.

Miller-Young, who obviously defends the use of porn in the classroom, states in the police report that she found the literature and pictures being presented by the pro-life advocates “disturbing,” “offensive,” “graphic,” “upsetting,” “traumatizing,” and “insensitive” — all of which threatened her “safety.”  She likened the pro-life protest to hate speech and claims she had a moral right to act the way she did.  In essence, Miller-Young doesn’t  tolerate protest.  She claims that it was her rights that were being harmed by allowing the pro-life advocates to interfere in her life and work while on campus.

Lost on this academic genius is the historical context of the ongoing holocaust in the ghettos of America.  Does Dr. Miller-Young not realize that a vastly disproportionate number of black babies are the victims of abortion in America?  Perhaps if she were to study the history of eugenics instead of porn she would discover the connection between abortion in the ghettos and slavery.  It all has to do with the commonly claimed rationale used by both slave traders and abortion providers to justify their bloody professions:  namely, the subject of their trade is not fully human.

Miller-Young, in her defense, makes the case in the police report that she is pregnant and about to have her baby tested for Down Syndrome.  We all know what that means.  Hence, to be confronted with imagery of fetal development would be understandably upsetting.  But that was the point the advocates were trying to make!  Since when is a reality check a hate crime?

Dr. Miller-Young is now part of the overwhelming majority, on campuses nationwide, who no longer believe that tolerance is a virtue if somebody is holding a minority position on a controversial subject.  The professor had the audacity to refer to the young woman as a terrorist.  But, in reality, the person who was terrorizing another was Dr. Miller-Young.  She was the person in the majority.  The protestors were on her turf and she tried to run them out.  She felt so emboldened that she apparently thought she could engage in an assault with apparent impunity, and thus far, incredibly, she has not been brought to justice.

This all speaks to the tendency in life and politics to become the person you hate. Miller-Young in essence has become “the man”!
