California Gov. Jerry Brown went to China on or about June 3 to meet with leaders of the communist national security threat. Reports from The Los Angeles Times indicate that he is engaging in some sort of talks about so-called climate change. This is rather disturbing for several reasons and yet no one is demanding investigations to learn exactly what Brown’s relationship is with this dangerous enemy of America.
The Los Angeles Times reported on June 1 and June 3 that Brown was heading to China. The June 1 report makes it seem as if Brown is engaging in foreign policy discussions with one of the biggest enemies of America.
Now, it’s China that is poised for global leadership. And as President Trump retreats from the nation’s previous path on environmental policy, Brown has the distinction of being America’s unofficial ambassador on climate change.
“Trump is going against science. He’s going against reality,” Brown said in an interview with The Times on Wednesday. “We can’t stand by and give aid and comfort to that. We have to do what’s right.”

Brown going to a foreign nation to engage in potential policy talks should raise red flags. Article 1, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution forbids states from entering “into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation.” Other U.S. law affirms that the realm of foreign policy belongs solely to the federal government. So officials and leaders should be concerned if Brown has the authority to do what he is doing. But the fact that Brown is proudly going to communist China to engage in this action should have leaders extremely worried.
The director of national intelligence (the head of the U.S. Intelligence Community) briefed the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence on or about May 11. And that briefing identified China as one of the gravest threats to America. Brown going to China to engage in unclear purposes on climate change right after he condemned Trump for withdrawing from the Paris Agreement should be setting off alarms throughout the highest levels of the federal government.
The United States has launched a series of investigations into Donald Trump based on unfounded allegations and outright conspiracy theories regarding his interactions with Russia. And yet when there is open evidence of California Gov. Jerry Brown arrogantly going to a communist national security threat to engage in talks that may potentially counter American foreign policy, no elected leader, official, politician, journalist, or pundit seems to care.
So why is this? Why aren’t our leaders demanding to know what is happening? Why isn’t the U.S. investigating California Gov. Jerry Brown’s relationship with China?
