Kim Davis’s deeply held religious beliefs about marriage are protected by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, the Kentucky Constitution, and the Kentucky Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
But Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear doesn’t seem to like that law he tried to veto. He filed a brief last week arguing that he doesn’t have a duty to accommodate Kim Davis’s deeply held religious convictions.
Davis’s lawyer, Mat Staver responded, “Unfortunately, having run out of legal arguments, Governor Beshear has now resorted to childish antics and name-calling.”
