Virginia Abortion Clinic Closes

A northern Virginia abortion provider recently closed. Health and safety inspections showed that it was filthy. Employees didn’t even change their gloves between patients which exposed their patients to infections and sexually transmitted diseases.

In addition, it’s doctors had faced malpractice lawsuits including wrongful death, an emergency hysterectomy, and having unqualified workers administer drugs to patients.

In spite of this, the state had not forced the clinic to close, but rather it closed voluntarily. Instead, Virginia officials are looking at relaxing cleanliness standards for abortion clinics and are encouraging this behavior at other clinics.
