Tara Taylor posted a picture of her daughter, Rylee, on Facebook for her friends to see. In the picture, Rylee’s left eye had a strange glow. Tara thought it was caused by the unusual lighting. However, two friends commented that it might actually be indicative of a potential eye problem. So, she promptly took her three-year-old daughter in for an eye exam.
As it turned out, Rylee was diagnosed with Coat’s disease, which can cause blindness if not treated early. Rylee immediately started treatment, and doctors say that they were able to save the little girl’s eyesight.
Thanks to their Facebook friends, the Taylors got a lot more than just a few “likes.” Their daughter’s vision was saved.
