Utah Gov. Gary Herbert has sparked the ire of a LGBTQ rights organization for telling the truth about sexual deviancy during a televised press conference on Thursday. Utah Pride is demanding that the governor apologize for describing homosexuality as a choice and for calling the failure of other states to defend their traditional marriage laws the “next step to anarchy.”
Gov. Herbert defiantly pledged to continue the legal battle for Utah’s voter-approved natural marriage amendment, which was struck down by another black-robed tyrant, U.S. District Court Judge Robert Shelby, last December. The ruling wrongly rendered Utah’s protection of true marriage unconstitutional, resulting in a mad dash to the courthouse by approximately 1,200 homosexual pairs. Seventeen days later, the Supreme Court ordered a halt to the pretend “marriages” while the case is being appealed to the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver
“For elected officials, governors or attorney generals, to pick and choose what laws [they] will enforce I think is a tragedy, and is the next step to anarchy,” the governor warned. “We have an obligation as a state to defend those laws.”
After being asked for his opinion on the false analogy of “gay marriage” to interracial marriage, Herbert offered his accurate views on homosexuality.

“What you choose to do with your sexual orientation is different in my mind than what you’re born with as far as your race,” he said.
“What your attraction may be is something else, but how you act upon those impulses is a choice,” Gov. Herbert later continued.
The Republican governor has also refused to yield to the recommendation that Utah drop its defense of the 2004 democratically enacted amendment to the Utah state constitution that enshrined the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
Seeing Oregon and Pennsylvania — the 18th and 19th states to allow faux “gay” marriage — capitulate to the rulings of rogue federal judges and refusing to defend the marriage laws of their respective states has done nothing to change Gov. Herbert’s mind. And he’s perturbed that these other states don’t feel the same way or recognize the danger.
On May 21, Republican Governor Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania declined to appeal a federal judge’s lawless ruling striking down natural marriage in the Keystone State, stating that “the case is extremely unlikely to succeed on appeal.” The homosexual activists are banking on the defeatist attitudes of politicians like Corbett to hasten the advance of their perverse agenda.
“To suggest that allowing gay marriage is the foundation of anarchy, to us, is hate speech,” John Netto, who heads the Utah Pride Center board, told the Salt Lake Tribune. “We think he is uneducated … on current scientific positions in regard to human sexuality.”
Netto should actually refer to what the unabashedly pro-‘gay’ American Psychological Association, the largest group of psychologists worldwide, stated in 2009, “There are numerous theories about the origins of a person’s sexual orientation; most scientists today agree that sexual orientation is most likely the result of a complex interaction of environmental, cognitive and biological factors. In most people, sexual orientation is shaped at an early age … In summary, it is important to recognize that there are probably many reasons for a person’s sexual orientation and the reasons may be different for different persons.” [Emphasis mine.]
Moreover, according to Dr. John D’Emilio, a well-known “gay” activist and professor of history, gender and women’s studies at the University of Illinois, “‘Born gay’ is an idea with a large constituency, LGBT and otherwise. It’s an idea designed to allay the ingrained fears of a homophobic society and the internalized fears of gays, lesbians and bisexuals. What’s most amazing to me about the ‘born gay’ phenomenon is that the scientific evidence for it is thin as a reed, yet it doesn’t matter. It’s an idea with such social utility that one doesn’t need much evidence in order to make it attractive and credible” [Emphasis mine]. So, if anyone needs an education about the “current scientific positions in regard to human sexuality,” it’s Netto, not Gov. Herbert.
“We absolutely think he should apologize, and we think he should reach out and we think he should get some education,” he insisted. But the truth requires no apologies. It’s the destroyers of marriage and the family who need to apologize to our country for foisting deviancy on us all.
Netto also said the governor’s comments displayed a lack of understanding, stating, “We are quite confident that the 18 or 19 states that have legal [gay] marriage are not in a state of anarchy, and there has been no damage down to heterosexual marriage. We absolutely think he should apologize, and we think he should reach out and we think he should get some education.” Tell that to the state of California where extreme Leftist lawmakers are pushing a measure that would allow homosexual men to be listed as “mother” and lesbians to be cited as “father” on birth certificates. If that’s not anarchy, then I don’t know what is.
Columnist Stanley Kurtz noted that in Sweden and Norway, the granting of “marriage” rights to same-sex couples has resulted in a general cultural trend away from marriage and toward “more frequent out-of-wedlock birth and skyrocketing family dissolution.” And according to Charles Cooke, writing at National Review Online, same sex male “marriages” in Norway are 50% more likely to end in divorce than heterosexual marriages, and lesbian “marriages” are a stratospheric 167% more likely to be dissolved than heterosexual unions. In addition, rates of domestic abuse in same-sex partnerships are anywhere from two to four times more frequent than in heterosexual marriages. A 2006 study of same sex “marriages” in Norway and Sweden found that “divorce risk levels are considerably higher in same sex marriages.”
New York Magazine, likewise, reported, “Many straight couples struggling with (monogamy) issues look to gay male friends, for whom a more fluid notion of commitment is practically the norm.” The article goes on to describe a heterosexual husband’s desire to make his marriage “open” after hearing his “gay” friend describe his own sexual pursuits outside of his so-called committed relationship.
Due to the notoriously higher rates of infidelity and impermanence among homosexual relationships, the legalization of unnatural marriage will inevitably contributed to more broken homes, which are plagued by all kinds of societal ills such as higher rates of welfare dependency, domestic abuse, unemployment, crime, suicide and psychological harm to children.
Wherever states have recklessly chosen to ignore the obvious biological compatibility of the two genders, marriage has unraveled, the family has suffered, and numerous associated societal ills have spiraled out of control. That’s anarchy plain and simple.
Gov. Herbert hit the nail right on the head. No apologies necessary.
