Those who vehemently loathe the Judeo-Christian roots of America, have always squealed a false narrative whenever they wanted to distance themselves from America’s founding principles: Separation of church and state.
This is a false narrative because it erroneously makes reference to the First Amendment. The phrase, “separation of church and state” is not written in the First Amendment of the Constitution. This Amendment rather explicitly states that the U.S. Constitution prohibits the federal and state governments from nationalizing any religion, and from creating a national church or preferring one sect over another.
So, the government has no business adopting a State religion NOR should it favor one sect over another. And therefore must not become the legal advocate for any creed against the American people, democracy or freedom itself.
Those in government that have looked for weapons against expressions of the faith of the foundation of our Republic, have often used the phrase “separation of church & state” (which was written in a letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Assoc. in the State of CT).
Now here’s the incongruity…the screamers for the State, have suddenly become the advocates of a political system masquerading as a religion (Islam). A system that plans, as per its directives, to conquer and replace our system with draconian dictates that are the antithesis to freedom.
Two recent cases for concern:
First: Following the slaughter of 14 innocent Americans by devout Muslim Jihadists in San Bernardino, CA, the US Attorney General Loretta Lynch made a promise to a Muslim audience, that she would prosecute those she deemed as using ‘anti-Muslim’ language that ‘edges toward violence’. She even urged parents of Muslim children to report any “anti-Muslim bullies” to the Justice Department and the Department of Education.
Instead of protecting the American people from those following an ideology that has an explicit goal of either converting, enslaving (as we still see today in Africa), or killing (i.e. San Bernardino, Ft. Hood, etc.)…the Justice Dept. has chosen to protect followers OF that ideology enabling those followers to continue their reign of terror against free people.
Second: Recently, someone pulled the silly prank of placing bacon on the door handles of a Mosque in Las Vegas. The overreaction of the FBI was quite revealing. Instead of dismissing it as the prank that it was, the FBI is conducting a search for the individual seen on a surveillance video AND offering $5,000 reward for information that leads to the person who pulled the prank. Something that would be done in an Islamic country under Islamic Law.
What’s disturbing about these two examples is: It appears that the US government has now become the policing and litigating arm of the Islamic faith. A violation of the First Amendment. And this in light of a recent false anti-Muslim incident in Houston perpetrated by a devout Muslim. Islamic Sharia Law prohibits the disparaging/criticism of Islam, Allah or Muhammed. This violation carries grave consequences to the perp. So, why is the Executive branch of the US government enforcing Islamic Law?
The government’s assertion of protecting Muslims from offense (NOT guaranteed in the Constitution) to prevent a violent response by Muslims, flies in the face of their mantra that Islam is a ‘religion of peace’. Where was the governmental outrage, in all fairness, to the “Piss Christ”, which was a taxpayer-funded abomination first released in 1989? It was again exhibited in 2012 in NYC, and the Obama WH response: Silence.
It is NOT the government’s business to shield the feelings of any people group. And by doing so, Washington has become the litigating arm of Islam here in the States, and an influence on Western leaders abroad.
It may very well be too late to heed the wisdom of Ronald, in our death spiral away from freedom:
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.”
Let’s hope there’s a few grains of sand left in the hourglass.
