Urgent Help Needed for Victims of Islamic State

Barb Wire

A RUN Ministries employee called one of my staff members last night with an update about conditions at their “Community of Hope” refugee camps and safe homes. The RUN employee began to cry when she wondered aloud if, at some point, their dedicated team of amazing volunteers will be forced to end their humanitarian efforts due to a lack of funds. Choking back tears, she said:

Even though they’re tired, scared and overwhelmed by the task of caring for and protecting 3,500 families, the volunteers are praying for us! They’re asking God to reveal a plan that will provide the desperately needed funds for more food, clean water, medicine and shelter.

Nearly 30,000 Iraqi men, women, and children are under the care and protection of RUN Ministries in northern Iraq. To put that number in perspective, New York City’s Madison Square Garden seats less than 20,000. Imagine how difficult it is to feed, clothe and shelter that many people on a daily basis.

Eric’s team of volunteers are, quite literally, trying to do the impossible for Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities have lost everything, even loved ones, to ISIS terror. Can you please help us answer RUN’s urgent call for help?

ISIS forces continue to wreak havoc against Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities. The violence and terror are making an extreme humanitarian crisis even worse. More and more refugees come every day, but RUN volunteers refuse to turn anyone away.

That’s why RUN desperately needs your help now! Ending their rescue and relief efforts is simply not an option. Eric says, “If we do stop, many men, women and children will die. That’s the harsh truth of this crisis.”

But it takes an amazing amount of resources to provide clean water, food, medicine, clothes, blankets, and tents for close to 30,000 refugees who have lost everything. With 3,500 families under their care and protection, RUN volunteers have no other option than to continue doing whatever they can to help.

Every day, hundreds more Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities arrive at RUN’s “Community of Hope” refugee camps and safe homes. So even if you’ve given previously, RUN still needs your help to continue their difficult, dangerous, and lifesaving work. Please click here to make your tax-deductible donation now.
