For all his faults, Donald Trump has done more good for this country in one year than Barack Obama did in 8.
For all his lofty talk, Obama arguably did more damage to this country in 8 years than 42 presidents before him combined, including doubling the national debt, inciting racial animus, embracing Muslim terrorists, spying on US citizens, demoralizing the police and military, institutionalizing sexual depravity. We could go on, but frankly Obama’s list of harm is too long to completely itemize here.
The list of good things done by Trump is even longer, and it took him one-eighth the time to do them. He has massively reduced taxes, stimulated a booming economy and soaring stock market, restored optimism in businesses to record heights, tightened immigration, dumped the global warming trillion dollar fraud, appointed conservative judges and a pro-life Supreme Court justice, ended Obamacare’s mandatory insurance tax and, as the Wall Street Journal points out in a column naming Trump “Rookie of the Year,” he is directly responsible for a record reduction in costly, intrusive, freedom-limiting government regulations. Not bad for one year.
Like many people, yours truly had serious and legitimate reservations about Trump, but voted for him to deny the presidency to Hillary, who would have been as bad as Obama in every way, PLUS be a crook.
I hoped to see some regulations rolled back, and a halt to galloping “progressive” policies, which are nothing more than socialism and tyranny. But pleasantly surprised is a gross understatement. Republicans who are honest must concede there is nothing extreme about Trump’s agenda. It is standard GOP doctrine.
The difference is, Trump followed through with the promises and hasn’t compromised.
Here’s some advice for those who still chafe at Trump’s histrionics. It’s all theatrics. Rope a dope. Distraction to aggravate and get the opposition responding to things that don’t matter. List the worst things he’s threatened to do in Tweets, then one by one ask yourself has he really done them? Any of them? For my colleagues in the press, remember how he threatened to change libel laws (as if he could)? Yeah, zero changes in the libel laws.
The point is, people dislike Trump for things he’s said, while simultaneously benefitting from things he’s done. How many thousands of employees – including those in the press – are getting $1,000 bonuses this Christmas, thanks to the Trump tax reform? And that’s before they enjoy lower taxes.
Before he was sworn in, the Left, progressives and entrenched Washington bureaucracy vowed – and we know now, plotted – to deny Trump the presidency, then failing that, to discredit his presidency with, excuse the phrase, trumped up allegations.
Nevertheless, after a year and a half of sedition by the best minds on the Left and the most powerful manipulators in the Department of Justice and FBI, not only have they failed to produce a shred of evidence that Trump colluded with Russia to influence the election, but now we know the real election collusion was among the Clinton gang that paid for a fictitious “dossier,” the Obama operatives who leaked the dossier intending to damage Trump and the Russians who conspired with Clinton and Obama to hand over 20% of America’s uranium in return for tens of millions in cash delivered to Hillary’s foundation, a money laundering front on a scale that would make the mob blush.
Yes, Trump has been disrespectful of those who intend to harm America, including the Clinton-Obama cabal. But where is it written that respect is due people who intend you harm? If you fall back on Christian piety to say Trump isn’t loving and kind, take a moment to recall how Jesus spoke to and about those who perverted truth and sought to lead people astray.
“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)
Progressives for decades have advanced one lie after another, including but not limited to a baby in the womb is just a cluster of cells, and the government knows better what to do with your money than you do. Now in California, the vanguard of American progressivism, people are told the lie that they can select whatever sex they desire to be and have it emblazoned on their drivers’ licenses. California is the model for the Clinton-Obama progressive utopia. And beginning in 2018, California children beginning in the second grade will be indoctrinated in these perverse sexual lies.
California is not only destroying itself with the most vast array of progressive diktats this side of the old Soviet Union, it is institutionalizing evil. California points the way to what Clinton would have done to America had she defeated Trump.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” (Isaiah 5:20)
Just avoiding the California-ization of the United States is blessing enough. But Trump not only saved the nation from that horrid future, he has accomplished literally hundreds of significant good improvements. Do a web search. There are multiple lists of Trump legislative and executive victories that bless America.
That’s something to consider when you’re enjoying the lowest unemployment rate in decades, the highest stock market ever and your $1,000 bonuses and substantial tax cuts. And perhaps the greatest blessing of all, no Clinton in the White House.
