For at least the past decade, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has been capturing illegal aliens with criminal records, processing them and then releasing them from detention.
At one time during the Obama administration, it had been reported by Judicial Watch that the Obama administration had released 195,900 convicted criminal aliens throughout the United States.
Some of those illegal aliens released had been convicted of homicide, sexual assault, kidnapping and aggravated assault.
The Trump administration sought to detain illegal aliens who had criminal records longer than previously allowed.
Liberals and illegal aliens challenged the effort, but yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in Trump’s favor, allowing them to keep criminal illegal aliens in detention longer.
Fox News – Supreme Court hands Trump administration a victory in immigration battle – The Supreme Court on Tuesday handed the Trump administration a victory in its battle to clamp down on illegal immigration by making it easier to detain immigrants with criminal records.
The ruling that federal immigration authorities can detain immigrants awaiting deportation anytime after they have been released from prison on criminal charges represents a victory for President Trump.
In the case before the justices, a group of mostly green card holders argued that unless immigrants were picked up immediately after finishing their prison sentence, they should get a hearing to argue for their release while deportation proceedings go forward. Technically, everyone who enters the United States illegally commits a crime.
Consequently, they should all face the consequences of their crime of violating our federal immigration laws.
It’s not the laws that need to be changed, it’s our handling of illegal aliens that needs to be changed.
They all should be arrested, charged with the crime and then being immediately deported back to their home county.
Then I would not only build a secure border wall, but do what so many other countries do and that is place US military personnel along the entire border with orders to stop and detain every illegal alien.
