As previously reported, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced earlier this week that he would pass a spending bill but that the bill would not include funding for a border wall.
A day later, McConnell did just that in guiding the passage of a Senate spending bill and yes, the bill did no contain any funding for Trump’s promised border wall.
I reported then that McConnell was a traitor to President Trump and to the American people and that he was more afraid of the Democrats who hold a minority in the Senate, than he is afraid of Trump and the American people.
After the House passed a spending bill that did include funding for the border wall, President Trump told McConnell to use the ‘nuclear option’ if necessary to pass a spending bill that funds the border wall and avoid a government shutdown.
Breitbart – Donald Trump Urges Mitch McConnell to Use ‘Nuclear Option’ to Fund Government – President Donald Trump urged Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Friday to use the “nuclear option” to avoid a government shutdown.
“Mitch, use the Nuclear Option and get it done!” he wrote on Twitter. “Our Country is counting on you!”
The government funding bill, including the $5 billion for border security passed the House of Representatives on Thursday with a wide majority.
Senate Democrats have vowed to oppose the bill which would prevent it from reaching the 60 vote threshold required to move forward.
Senator Steve Daines of Montana floated the option of using the nuclear option, which would allow the legislation to move forward with a 51 vote majority…
By the times this posts, America will learn if McConnell does the right thing for Trump and the American and use the nuclear option to pass a bill that fund the wall or if he will continue to show his true colors and contempt for Trump and the American people.
One thing is certain, if he runs for office again, I will not vote for him.
Over the past 2 years, McConnell has shown that his own personal petty dislike of Trump is more important than listing to the will of the American people and the citizens of Kentucky who put him in office.
When his term comes up in 2020, McConnell had best retire rather than go down in defeat and give his seat to a Democrat.
