If unsubstantiated political accusations are enough to launch a Special Counsel investigation, then virtually every member of Congress, every President and Cabinet member should be investigated.
However, we don’t see that happening and there is a very good reason why.
When Special Counsel is appointed by the Department of Justice, it is done so based upon solid evidence that a crime has been committed by whomever the investigation is investigating.
In the case of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, there was evidence of Russian election interference but there was not one shred of evidence of any collusion or wrong doing on the part of Donald Trump or his campaign.
Therefore, the Mueller probe should never have targeted Trump and members of his campaign.
President Trump made that clear in a recent tweet.
Fox News – Trump says ‘there should be no Mueller Report,’ calls probe ‘illegal’ – President Trump declared Friday that “there should be no Mueller Report,” blasting the special counsel’s Russia investigation as “illegal” and “conflicted” following the release of new details about the early days of the probe.
“So, if there was knowingly & acknowledged to be ‘zero’ crime when the Special Counsel was appointed, and if the appointment was made based on the Fake Dossier (paid for by Crooked Hillary) and now disgraced Andrew McCabe (he & all stated no crime), then the Special Counsel should never have been appointed and there should be no Mueller Report,” Trump tweeted Friday morning.
“This was an illegal & conflicted investigation in search of a crime. Russian Collusion was nothing more than an excuse by the Democrats for losing an Election that they thought they were going to win,” he continued. “THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN TO A PRESIDENT AGAIN!” …
There is no doubt in the minds of many Americans that the only reason the Mueller investigation was launched was because of the influence of unethical Democrats with the help of Trump-hating Republicans.
The reason for the Mueller probe was based on political lies that came out of the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee.
Everything about the Mueller probe has been highly suspect and politically driven from the very beginning and has only served to drive a wedge into the growing division that is splitting our country in two.
In fact, many believe that Mueller has committed crimes in the process of his investigation and should be duly prosecuted for those crimes.
