There is no doubt that over the past decade and longer, the absolute most liberal federal court in all of America has been the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
They have a history of issuing a number of rulings that seem to be based more on a liberal agenda than on the Constitution and rule of law.
President Trump has recently leveled harsh criticism of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, a criticism that drew the ire of Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.
On Tuesday, the White House announced the nominations of 51 federal judges, two of which are for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Fox News – White House announces 51 judicial picks, including two for liberal 9th Circuit – The White House on Tuesday announced the re-nomination of 51 federal judicial nominees left over from the previous Congress, kickstarting the administration’s effort to install more conservative judges after GOP activists worried that such appointments had stalled.
Nine of the 51 appointments are for spots on prestigious and influential federal appellate benches, including two on the mostly liberal San Francisco-based 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which President Trump has often derided as “disgraceful” and politically biased.
“I truly appreciate the prompt attention President Trump and his White House team have shown to judicial nominations,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said in a statement Wednesday. “I also appreciate the list of 51 impressive judicial nominations to fulfill the Senate’s constitutional role in advice and consent.”
Graham vowed that the committee “will immediately begin working on these important nominations and trying to confirm as many as possible, as soon as possible.” …
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has appellate jurisdiction of the federal district courts in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and the territories of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands as well as any US interests in China.
It is the largest of 13 federal appellate courts with 29 judges, 9 appointed by Bill Clinton, 5 appointed by George W. Bush, 7 appointed by Barack Obama and 2 by Donald Trump, with 6 vacancies, giving Democrat appointments the majority of 16-7.
If Trump successfully fills the 6 vacancies with conservative and constitutional judges, it would help balance out the court, something conservatives have been calling for.
