This week on Vocal Point with Jerry Newcombe, (Sept 24 – Sept 30). Listen to VOCAL POINT Daily at MIDNIGHT, 6AM, NOON, 6PM, (Eastern Time) on GraceNetRadio.com.
❖ Bob Woodward of Watergate fame has written a new bestseller. It’s barely out of the gate and already 100s of 1000s of copies apparently have been sold. He is making publishing history. The prize-winning co-author (with Carl Bernstein) of All the President’s Men, has now written a book called Fear: Trump in the White House. This is the 18th best-seller by Bob Woodward, the noted Washington Post journalist. But the book has been barely out, and there are already various claims questioning its accuracy. For example, Heritage posted an article called “6 Denials of Claims in Woodward’s Trump Book Before Its Release.” Another article questioning the book’s accuracy comes from best-selling author, Craig Parshall, an attorney with the ACLJ. His post is called “A Blunder in the Woodward Book?” Craig Parshall joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss the controversial new book. www.craigparshallauthor.com
❖ On the one hand, we hear repeatedly of “the blue wave” coming in the midterm elections. On the other hand, a new article by a DC-area Tea Party group, claims that many people are leaving the Democrat Party or that they feel that the Democrat Party left them. Writing an article for dailysignal.com, Jeff Walyus penned, “Democrats Are Leaving Their Party in Droves. Conservatives Should Pay Attention.” Walyus is described as being a writer for Potomac Tea Party’s Walk Away Project. He notes, “Make no mistake, the left has been greatly rattled by all this. The left’s treatment of the #WalkAway Campaign mirrors the way it reacted to the Tea Party movement. First, it ignored it, hoping it would go away. Then it moved on to minimizing and attempting ridicule, which it has done with #WalkAway. Steven Colbert and others claimed that the #WalkAway Campaign is just run by Russian bots.” Jeff Walyus joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss this recent phenomenon. www.floppingaces.net
❖ Gregory Wrightstone is a geologist with more than 35 years “of experience researching and studying various aspects of the earth’s processes.” He does not agree with Al Gore or the other climate change alarmists. In fact, he has written a book, Inconvenient Facts: The Science Al Gore doesn’t want you to know. Recently, Wrightstone has been asked, “Is Trump to blame for Hurricane Florence?” It may seem absurd, but some on the left think that the president is to blame for all the hurricanes under his watch. When Wrightstone was speaking about this subject recently in St. Louis, where he was receiving an award from the Phyllis Schlaffly organization, some Antifa members showed up to protest, outside and even a couple of them inside. Despite what the alarmists say, Wrightstone points out: “Data from the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, dating back to 1880, provides clear proof that both the total number of hurricanes and those making landfall have been in a significant long-term decline.” Gregory Wrightstone joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss the issue of alleged links between hurricanes and man-made climate change. www.inconvenientfacts.xyz
❖ “Brett Kavanaugh was on track—and hopefully remains on track—to become the next Supreme Court Associate Justice. But then came a last minute allegation of attempted rape.” I wrote this in my recent column on Kavanaugh and the accusation against him. The charges are very serious. But one can’t help but wonder why they would come up now, after the man has had an extensive hearing and meetings with the senators. He has even undergone 6 FBI thorough investigations. Gary Bauer said he underwent just one of those and would prefer undergoing a colonoscopy. Dr. Michael Brown is an insightful Christian author, educator, columnist, and talk host. His latest book, soon to be released, is Donald Trump Is Not My Savior: An Evangelical Leader Speaks His Mind About the Man He Supports as President. Dr. Michael Brown joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss this last minute potential derailing of the Kavanaugh confirmation. www.askdrbrown.org
