We should thank Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal for enforcing the Constitution of Louisiana and defending Religious Liberty!

From the Governor’s Press Release:

BATON ROUGE – Following the House Civil Law and Procedure Committee’s decision to return the Louisiana Marriage and Conscience Act to the calendar, Governor Bobby Jindal issued an Executive Order to protect religious liberty and prevent the state from discriminating against those with deeply held religious beliefs.

Governor Jindal said, “In Louisiana, the state should not be able to take adverse action against a person for their belief in traditional marriage.

“That’s why I’m issuing an Executive Order to prevent the state from discriminating against people, charities and family-owned businesses with deeply held religious beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman.

“We don’t support discrimination in Louisiana and we do support religious liberty. These two values can be upheld at the same time.

“Indeed, we celebrate diversity of belief in Louisiana. Diversity of belief and religious liberty are the foundation of our law and Constitution and they should be protected. As long as I’m Governor, we will fight to protect religious liberty and not apologize for it.”

According to the Bible, God didn’t create heterosexuals and homosexuals.

He created male and female. While all people are created equal, all behavior is not equal.

God created men and women as sexual beings and gave the gift of sexual intimacy to be holy and held sacred between a husband and his wife. Through procreation within the God instituted family unit, a healthy civilization is sustained.

God describes “Natural sexuality” (Hebrews 13:4) as the union of a husband and wife, and charges us to protect the sanctity of that union as Jesus defined in Matthew 19:4-6.

4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

If two people choose to practice a sexual behavior which goes against nature in the privacy of their own bedroom, in America, that is their personal business.

But in America, Bible believing Christians should not be forced to celebrate such private behavior, nor are we under the obligation to have that behavior forcibly taught to our children in the media or public education.

1n 1787, Our Founding Fathers did not create a system of government where nine judges ruled over 320 million people.

We are a union of sovereign states, who created a limited “general/federal” government and delegated to that creation of ours “few and defined” responsibilities (Federalist #45) in order to care for the “general welfare” (i.e., military, postal service, negotiating foreign treaties, minting money).

Whenever the general government attempts to exceed its legal authority and infringe upon the states, then it is the responsibility of the states to say “NO” (Federalist #33).

Thirty states have Constitutions defining marriage as one man and one woman. Nowhere was the Federal Government or Supreme Court given authority to re-define marriage and force that decision on people without their consent.

Why aren’t all Governors following Governor Jindal’s suit and upholding their oaths of office?

Call or email Governor Jindal and express your support. Then call or email your governor and ask why they aren’t enforcing your state’s Constitution!
