The Southern Baptist Convention passed a resolution supporting Israel and opposing the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement.

Mat Staver: With over 46,000, almost 47,000 churches, and 50,000+ churches and other missions organizations, the Southern Baptist organization represents 16+ million people in the country, and they took a stand on the side of Israel. And that is a very encouraging sign when some religious organizations are taking a wrong stand, opposing Israel.

Holly Meade: Absolutely. I know, mat, you had the honor recently to serve on the Southern Baptist resolutions committee. And they came up with a resolution regarding support of Israel, and I think it’s very exciting.

Mat Staver: Yea, it’s very exciting to see this particular resolution is one that says there’s never been a time…to support Israel than now. And it speaks to Israel’s right to exist. In fact, it says in part, “We support the right of Israel to exist as a sovereign state and reject any activities that attack that right by promoting economic, cultural, and academic boycotts against Israel.”
