When Barack Obama bypassed Congress to fund his pet projects 12 different times, no one in Congress said anything about trying to block him when he declared national emergencies.
No one claimed that Obama was acting illegally or was violating the Constitution by declaring a national emergency.
Furthermore, no one seems to care that 10 of the 12 national emergencies declared by Obama are still syphoning federal funding for his projects.
But when President Trump tries to do the right thing with stopping illegal immigration, illegal drug and human trafficking and increasing border protection, everyone starts screaming all kinds of accusations against him.
It’s now being reported that enough Senate Republicans, including Rand Paul (R-KY) are joining to block Trump’s emergency declaration.
Breitbart – Rand Paul Predicts 10 GOP Senators Will Vote to End Trump National Emergency – Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) predicted Monday that ten Republican senators will vote for a Democrat resolution to end President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration to build the wall.
Sen. Paul told reporters that he believes that ten Republicans senators will vote to end Trump’s national emergency declaration. Paul announced Saturday that he will vote for the Democrat resolution.
“I can’t vote to give the president the power to spend money that hasn’t been appropriated by Congress. We may want more money for border security, but Congress didn’t authorize it,” Paul said. “If we take away those checks and balances, it’s a dangerous thing.” …
I have already contacted Paul’s office in Washington DC and informed him that if he votes to block Trump’s national emergency declaration that he has lost my vote, my wife’s vote, my daughter and her husband’s votes and the votes of as many people I can talk to.
I told the Senator that I believe not taking action to protect America and the American people is tantamount to treason and that by voting against Trump will him a traitor.
I advise all of you to contact your senators and tell them the same thing.
