Lee Bright is no political pushover. He is currently serving as the Republican state senator for South Carolina’s 12th District. Bright is a firebrand from Spartanburg who is challenging U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham from the right flank in the upcoming GOP primary. His campaign rallying cry is “For Liberty, For Senate” with an emphasis on fighting for liberty.
Last January, the state senator boldly called for the impeachment of U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby, who struck down Utah’s Amendment 3 to its state constitution, which exclusively defined marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The amendment was approved by the voters of the Utah in 2004.
I think if you just took the most egregious case, possibly the one out in Utah where basically the state constitution is being trumped by one federal judge, in a sense the will of a sovereign state, State Senator Bright asserted, Congress ought to stand up and do its job and impeach one of these federal judges. And I think when you do that — being a federal judge is a pretty good gig — and I think if you’ll impeach just one, the rest of them will do the right thing. And they’ll do it out of necessity, because self-preservation is an instinct that so many folks have.
Speaking just this past Sunday on “Washington Watch” with Josh Duggar, the TLC reality TV star who also serves as executive director of the Family Research Council’s campaign arm, State Senator Bright said that GOP leaders like Speaker John Boehner should have the “courage” of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Republicans need to learn to start playing offense and quit playing so much defense. You look at, of course I hate to use examples, you look at Assad and you look at Putin, when people stand up to Obama, you see that he backs up and his lines in the sand become erased.
If [Speaker] Boehner had the courage that Putin and Assad had, we’d be living in a different America, but we don’t have the leadership and we’ve got to continue to try to get folks to Washington that are going to take the fight to the liberal agenda.
The South Carolina Republican also pledged to wrest the educational system from the grip of the “homosexual agenda” before it warps the minds of the “next generation.”
One thing I didn’t mention earlier, you were talking about things going around the state, we’ve got the homosexual agenda on the full march in our institutions of higher ed and we’ve gone from education to indoctrination, so we are in a fight — they have seized the educational establishment and we’ve got to take that back and we’ve got to get folks involved in that or otherwise that’s our next generation.
With the “gay” mafia wreaking its moral and social havoc on the American landscape, we definitely need candidates of courage like State Senator Bright who are absolutely unwilling to make any concessions to the homosexual agenda. That’s especially true when it comes to the deviant brainwashing of the Millennials. And it will take many more unflinching politicians who have the same fortitude to speak out — if we’re ever going to reclaim our country for God.
