On Wednesday from the floor of the U.S. Senate, Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid angrily blasted those individuals who shared their Obamacare horror stories of skyrocketing premiums, incompetent administration, and policy cancellations. He dismissed all such claims as nothing more than lies. Actually, it’s Sen. Reid who is lying because he sees the writing on the wall: Big losses for the Democrats in the mid-term elections in the Fall, and the primary reason is Obamacare’s painful consequences. Sounds like Harry Reid is competing with Pres. Obama for the 2014 “Lie of the Year” award.
“Despite all that good news,” Reid said, “there’s plenty of horror stories being told. All of them are untrue, but they’re being told all over America.”
Sen. Reid blamed the Koch Brothers, who are major contributors to Americans for Prosperity, the group that is responsible for many of the anti-Obamacare ads. He dismissed leukemia sufferer Julie Boonstra and every other horror story as just “stories made up from whole cloth, lies distorted by the Republicans to grab headlines or make political advertisements.” View an earlier BarbWire story on the Democrat intimidation of Boonstra here.
Here is an excellent video clip of the Fox News and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s response to Sen. Reid’s patently false tirade:
