Saudi Arabia Admits Killing of Khashoggi was Planned

It seems that international pressure has gotten to Saudi Arabian officials in relation to the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

At first it was reported that he disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

Then Turkish officials claimed to have proof that Khashoggi was murdered inside the consulate, causing many to wonder what kind of spy equipment they have inside the Saudi consulate.

Since Khashoggi was an open critic of Saudi Crown Prince bin Salman, he was accused of orchestrating the murder of Khashoggi, but the Saudi government denied it.

Facing mounting pressure and international investigations, the Saudi government has now admitted that the murder of Khashoggi was deliberately planned and carried out.

New York Post – The killing of Jamal Khashoggi was planned ahead of time, Saudi Arabian officials said Thursday in the latest flip-flop on the journalist’s mysterious death.

The statement from Saudi prosecutors reverses their previous explanation that the 59-year-old writer died accidentally during a fistfight in the kingdom’s consulate in Istanbul.

Saudi Attorney General Saud al-Mojeb said investigators reached their conclusion that Khashoggi’s slaying was premeditated after examining evidence from Turkish officials as part of their joint investigation, a statement on the state-run Saudi Press Agency said.

Initially, Saudi Arabia said Khashoggi, who was a vocal critic of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, had left the consulate after a visit Oct. 2 — but then changed its tune to say a brawl led to his death and that 18 Saudi suspects had been detained…

The question now that everybody is asking, is what will be President Trump’s reaction to the confession made by the Saudi government.

Trump has said he doesn’t want to jeopardize a $200 billion arms deal with the Saudi government because of what it means to American workers who are counting on the jobs.

He also didn’t want to jeopardize the relationship with Saudi Arabia since they are a very vital ally of the US in the Middle East.

Yet, Trump also promised to take harsh action against the Saudis if he learned that the death of Khashoggi was intentional and carried out by agents of the Saudi government.

It was intentionally carried out by the Saudi government, so what is Trump going to do?
