Actor Jim Carrey appeared on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher and said that we should all say yes to socialism and stop trying to hide from it.
It should be noted that Carrey has a net worth of about $150 million which he accumulated via a capitalistic nation and not from a socialist one.
In response to Carrey’s outrageous statement, Rev. Franklin Graham, the son of the late Rev. Billy Graham, blasted Carey for misleading the American people and encouraging them to accept a failed political system.
Graham pointed out the failure of socialism in Cuba and Venezuela as examples why this form of government is so dangerous for everyone.
(CNS News) – After the actor/comedian Jim Carrey, who has an estimated net worth of $150 million, encouraged Americans to “say yes to socialism,” Christian leader Franklin Graham criticized the remarks and explained that socialism is the “philosophy of failure,” that it has led to the persecution of millions of people, the destruction of religious freedom, and economic catastrophe. Reverend Graham also encouraged Americans to “reject every politician and party” that espouses socialism.
During a discussion about the two major political parties on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher show, Sept. 7, Jim Carrey said, “We have to say yes to socialism — to the word and everything. We have to stop apologizing.”
Rev. Graham commented on those remarks in a Sep. 13 post on Facebook. “Jim Carrey is urging Democrats to ‘say yes to socialism’ and stop apologizing,” he wrote…
Democrats need to explain that if socialism is so great, then why have tens of thousands of Cubans risked their lives trying to cross 90-miles of open ocean to escape their socialist county.
They also need to explain why tens of thousands of people are trying to leave Venezuela because of its harsh and cruel socialist government.
I have friends who were born and raised in socialist eastern European countries and they all warn Americans NOT to embrace socialism.
One of those friends told me that socialism is nothing more than the government’s way of enslaving the people, but then Democrats fought for the right to keep slaves a century and half ago.
