For those who claim to be pro-life with a “rape and incest exception,” meet Miss Pennsylvania, Valerie Gatto. She was a contestant in the Miss USA pageant this week. Miss Gatto was conceived through rape, but said, “I believe God put me here for a reason. To inspire people, to encourage them, to give them hope that everything is possible and you can’t let your circumstances define your life.”

Valerie’s mother had intended to place her for adoption, but with the advice of her grandmother who said, “God doesn’t give you more than you can handle,” she decided to keep and raise her beautiful daughter. As testified by the Miss USA pageant contestant, God is able to turn even a horrific assault into something not only good, but beautiful.
