(1 min Audio Report – Freedom’s Call)
The Pope supports religious freedom for public officials.
Previously Pope Francis met with Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk. He has again confirmed his position that all people should have the religious freedom to stand up for biblical beliefs as Kim did.
A French paper quoted the Pope as saying:
The right to conscientious objection must be recognized within each legal structure because it is a human right, including for a government official, who is a human person.
This second confirmation of the Pope’s support of of a conscientious objection for everyone is uplifting to our defense of Kim Davis. It confirms our successful fight for her freedom to not be forced to authorize a same-sex marriage contrary to religious beliefs.
