In response to the social pressures on the Church, Pope Francis has called synod of the Catholic leadership regarding the topic of marriage and the family. This three week event has significant power to weaken or strengthen the application of the Catholic church’s teaching on many social issues.

Both liberals and conservatives have seen reason to believe that the Pope supports their position, including his visit with our own client, clerk Kim Davis.

The resolution of this synod could have substantial ripple effects through the Catholic church for many years to come.
