Parliament Destroys Brexit and Prime Minister May

For centuries, Great Britain has been a proud independent sovereign nation, but that all changed in 1973 when they, along with Denmark and Ireland, joined the European Union.

For the first couple of decades, all seemed to be going well with Great Britain and the EU, but then the EU began to take on a United Nations style of socialist takeover.

This did not set well with some countries, especially proud and majestic Great Britain.

That prompted British Prime Minister Theresa May to announce, in October 2016, that she was invoking Article 50, the start of the movement dubbed Brexit.

In June 2016, a Brexit referendum went before the British voters and won by the narrow margin of 51.9% to 48.1%.

Brexit was supposed to officially take place on March 29, 2019, but that was dashed to bits, along with May’s authority, when Parliament voted against Brexit on Tuesday.

Fox News – Steve Hilton: Original intent of Brexit – restoring freedom and sovereignty – buried by inept bureaucrats – “Consider the possibility we are led by idiots.”

Those words, on a sticker given to me by Ben Domenech, founder of The Federalist, grace the front of the laptop on which I’m typing this. Let’s be honest: When it comes to Brexit and the leadership of the UK over the past few years, it’s not a “possibility” but a certainty.

Yesterday’s historic rejection of Theresa May’s Brexit agreement, the worst parliamentary defeat for a UK government in a century, is just the latest humiliation for a feckless British ruling class that appears to have suffered some kind of collective nervous breakdown since the country voted to leave the EU in June 2016.

Now Americans are asking: How the hell did the Brits end up in this mess, and what is the way out?

Before answering those questions it’s worth restating the point of it all in the first place. Let’s remind ourselves of the noble rationale for Brexit, an argument that is increasingly lost in the breathless reporting of the shambolic implementation process…

There is still a tiny ray of hope, but it is a very tiny ray that appears to be dimming every minute.

Friends of mine in Great Britain believe that the European Union is responsible for much of the decay taking place in Britain’s culture.

One friend described the EU as a socialist organized crime syndicate determined to take complete control over all of Great Britain and Europe without any regard for nationality, sovereignty or history.
