Remember back to January when Nancy Pelosi gave her Speaker of the House acceptance speech?
In her speech, Pelosi stated that she wanted to work with Republicans in a bipartisan manner.
However, in the same speech, she emphatically stated that she was not about to work with President Trump on funding of the border wall.
This week, there was an amendment, attached to a gun control bill, that mandated US Immigration and Customs Enforcement would be notified any time an illegal alien tried to purchase a firearm.
When the issue came to a vote, 2 dozen Democrats sided with Republicans.
Afterward, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez went on record stating that she was putting the Democrats who voted with GOP colleagues, on a list of those she will fight to unseat in their next election.
Fox News – Ocasio-Cortez warns of ‘list’ for moderate Dems who vote with Republicans: report – After more than two dozen moderate Democrats broke from their party’s progressive wing and sided with Republicans on a legislative amendment Wednesday, New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reportedly sounded the alarm in a closed-door meeting Thursday and said those Democrats were “putting themselves on a list.”
The legislation that prompted the infighting was a bill that would expand federal background checks for gun purchases, the Washington Post reported. But a key provision requiring U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to be notified if illegal immigrants attempt to purchase guns saw 26 moderate Democrats side with Republicans.
According to the Post, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi scolded her wayward center-leaning colleagues, telling them: “We are either a team or we’re not, and we have to make that decision.” …
Yep, not only did Ocasio-Cortez place Democrats who agreed acted in a bipartisan manner, as called for by Pelosi, but Pelosi also chastised them about not siding with her.
Not only is Ocasio-Cortez unwilling to consider any bipartisan cooperation, but so is Pelosi, which is a direct contradiction to what she stated in her speech accepting the House speakership.
From the top-ranking Democrat to the newest low-ranking Democrats, none of them are wiling to allow any bipartisanship on any subject proving that Pelosi was lying in her speech.
