The Reverend Franklin Graham had some harsh words for President Obama and the folks in the White House who have been putting together a reception for Pope Francis’ recent visit to America.
Just last week news broke that the Vatican had taken exception to many of the people that the White House had invited to a reception being held in honor of Pope Francis’ visit to our nation. Among the guests were a number of transgender activists, an openly gay Episcopalian bishop, and an activist nun who leads a group that the Vatican has criticized for not speaking out on abortion or euthanasia. Also adding to the disrespect was the fact that the White House had still not invited any of the leaders from many of the pro-life organizations that the Roman Catholic Church partners with in the US.
According to a senior Vatican official, the Holy See worries that any photos of the pope with these guests at the White House welcoming ceremony next Wednesday could be interpreted as an endorsement of their activities.
The tension exemplifies concerns among conservative Catholics, including many bishops, that the White House will use the pope’s visit to play down its differences with church leaders on such contentious issues as same-sex marriage and the contraception mandate in the health care law.

The Reverend Franklin Graham (a popular Protestant Christian leader) took to Facebook over the weekend to echo the Vatican’s disgust with the Obama team’s obvious attempt at playing politics with the Pope on certain social issues.
It’s wise of the Vatican to question President Obama’s guest list for the Pope’s visit next week—that list should raise a lot of eyebrows! The Wall Street Journal says those invited to the Pope’s welcome celebration include transgender activists, the first openly gay U.S. Episcopal bishop, and an activist nun whose organization supports abortion. This is disgraceful and obviously inappropriate. Is there no end to the lengths the president will go to in order to push his sinful agenda?
The Pope and his representatives from the Vatican need to realize that everything the Obama White House does is with an eye towards advancing their political schemes… especially when coupled with their immoral social agenda. So the Obama team will do everything within their power to make it seem as though Pope Francis and the Roman Catholic Church embrace immorality – whether through photo-ops implying tacit approval of the gay lifestyle, or by implying moral agreement with the murder of unborn children. Obama and his White House are always playing an angle and hopefully the Vatican will be wise enough to understand this.
