Well that did not take very long. Just days after the Orlando massacre I have now had folks say that I am personally responsible for it. Yes you read that right. Now I have had a militant homosexual activist actually blame me for the tragic shooting.
He singled me out by name, along with a few other Christian leaders, and tweeted in part: “You weren’t the gunman, but you’re the culture that built him. You’re the bullets in his gun.” Um, when I last checked, a homosexual, Democrat Muslim pulled the trigger and killed all those people.
But leave it to the loony left to turn the world on its head as they seek to turn reality into fantasy, truth into error, and black into white. Blame everyone else but the person actually guilty of the crime. And especially blame Christians and conservatives.
I will not give any more dignity to this person by saying who he is, or reporting his remarks in full. Suffice it to say that this is so very typical of these folks. They live a deathstyle which even they deep down know is wrong and unhealthy, yet they lash out in diabolical rage at anyone who cares about them enough to tell them the truth.
Trending: Is the Church Becoming Too Political?
So here I am, in another continent on the other side of the globe, yet it was I who was behind all this carnage. Never mind a political ideology which has not changed in 1400 years, which boldly says ‘death to the infidel’ and commands the death of homosexuals.
I discuss all the justification for this as found in the Koran, the hadith and the sira here.
There I spell out in detail why Islam is fully behind the sort of thing we found happening in Florida. And for my efforts on this, I had another guy sending in a comment to that article actually saying this: “Thank you, Bill, for further preparing the ground for the indiscriminate slaughter of gay people by self-appointed executioners. Your contribution is significant and I’m sure Jesus is mighty proud of you.”
What?! So now telling people what Islam teaches on this issue means I am further responsible for all this? Just how much moonbattery can we expect from these people? It seems clear that when people live in wilful defiance to the one true God, they not only experience a moral meltdown but their brains turn to mush as well.
We of course expect the moonbats of the secular left to turn everything upside down as they seek to excuse themselves and create scapegoats elsewhere. They will always manage to blame everything – from this morning’s burnt toast to a jihadist attack – on Christians, conservatives, Republicans, the NRA, etc.
But what is really appalling is the number of clueless and deceived “Christians” who are also jumping on the anti-Christian bandwagon here. Plenty of these nincompoops have actually managed to claim that biblical Christians are at fault because of our principled stance on marriage, family and human sexuality.
I won’t even give these folks the honour of pointing out who they are – they do not need any more attention drawn to them and their foolishness. But too many of these public voices have been aiding and abetting the enemy here. So much so that David French had a great article tearing into these folks. He said in part:
The principles, such as they exist, seem to be this: If you oppose same-sex marriage or mixed-gender bathrooms, then you not only can’t legitimately grieve the loss of gay lives, you’re partially responsible for the massacre in Orlando. Conservative efforts to protect religious freedom and freedom of association from unprecedented infringement will kill people. Never mind that all the actual evidence in the case points to Islamic motivations extrapolated from well-known and widely shared interpretations of Shariah law, somehow those darn Baptists are to blame.
Does this mean that Barack Obama would have been complicit in the massacre if it had happened four years ago, before he publicly changed his stance on same-sex marriage? What about Hillary Clinton? She opposed gay marriage until 2013. Her husband signed the Defense of Marriage Act. The Orlando shooter lived for years under Democratic administrations that opposed same-sex marriage. I guess Bill Clinton shares some blame as well. Some on the left simply refuse to believe what terrorists say about themselves and about their intentions.
I don’t have the words adequate to express my contempt for this view. Does any living, sentient being believe that if a Christian had launched this attack, these same liberals wouldn’t blame his religious beliefs? The so-called “reality-based community” ignores the actual evidence in the attack — Mateen’s own loudly declared jihadist beliefs — in an attempt to shame a community whose primary “sin” is opposing the sexual revolution.
Or as Derryck Green put it:
Everywhere one turns, one is inevitably confronted with LGBTQ propaganda, forced upon society by those who’re antagonistic toward traditional sexual and gender norms and ethics which came from the Judeo-Christian value system. These propagandists of the post-modern sexual revolution demand Captain America have a boyfriend; they send social media petitions to Disney suggesting that Elsa – a princess in the popular movie Frozen – be a lesbian; they celebrate the possibility of a transgender stingray in the upcoming movie, Finding Dora, the sequel to the hit movie, Finding Nemo; they celebrate Bruce Jenner’s “transition” and they cheer J.J. Abrams as he boasts about a gay character in the upcoming movies in the Star Wars franchise. This cultural gender-bending and homosexualization is in addition to the destruction of the institution of marriage, and absurdity that one can appropriate whatever gender one “identifies” with rather than one’s birth gender, crystallized in the disturbing bathroom edicts of the Obama administration. Not wanting to be force-fed secularized and culturally damaging sexual experimentation doesn’t qualify as a ‘brutal job’ of honoring the lives of LGBTQ. And it doesn’t implicate Christian responsibility for a murderous, radical Islamic madman either.
Further, as many examples demonstrate, most Christians aren’t anti-gay or “homophobic.” They simply don’t want to be legally mandated into participating in actions that violate their religious sensibilities – sensibilities which are protected by the Constitution. Many people despise teachers’ unions, myself included, but that doesn’t mean all teachers are despised (only the incompetent ones). The same analogy applies here. Christians aren’t afraid of gays, nor do they hate gays. They simply disagree with the overly aggressive agenda to normalize homosexuality through compulsion combined with the cultural deconstruction of social institutions.
Another one to take to task these foolish Christians who side with our opponents is Denny Burk. He writes:
What I have witnessed over the last several days is Christians trying to figure out appropriate ways in which to express their grief and horror at what happened in Orlando. We really want our neighbors to know that we weep with them and that our dismay is not diminished in any way by our differences otherwise. And yet that genuine concern has been met with angry disdain and accusation.
Is Orlando going to be our very own “Reichstag fire“? Lord, have mercy. I hope not, but the initial signs are not very encouraging. We remember how Nero got away with blaming Christians for the fire that nearly destroyed Rome. This feels eerily similar. No matter what happens, Christians are going to need each other for the long struggle ahead because there will be no shortage of accusers of the brethren. May none of them be from among our own ranks.
There is a hard truth that every Christian must come to terms with. No amount of virtue-signaling or apologizing will deliver you from the reproaches of Christ. The sexual revolutionaries will smoke you out on this issue. You will either accept their terms or you will be in the same pickle as the rest of us. There’s no middle way.
The key thing to remember is that if you are a disciple of the most high king, you will bear his reproach in some measure–unless you aren’t really his disciple. The world will not make its peace with him or us this side of glory. But we will love them nevertheless just like he showed us.
And of course our national leaders are just as bad. Not only do they continually make excuses for Islam and refuse to identify the enemy, but they are even happy to sit down and dine with them. Consider our own clueless dhimmi PM Malcolm Turnbull who proudly hosted the first ever government Ramadan dinner – held at Kirribilli House no less.
With some 60 Muslims in attendance, the government had even invited Islamic preacher Sheik Shady Al-Suleiman to the Iftar dinner. This Australian-born Sheik once called AIDS a divine punishment for gays and said women would be “hung by their breasts in hell,” and women should not even look at men. He has also previously called for adulterers to be stoned to death and called on God to help “destroy the enemies of Islam”.
Now Turnbull has been forced into an embarrassing backtrack on this, claiming he knew nothing about the preacher. Yeah, that is just the problem: he is completely clueless about Islam, full stop. So we keep finding home-grown terror and we keep finding blood on our streets.
The refusal to identify an enemy which has sworn to kill us is insanity of the highest order. Refusing to believe a devout Muslim when he slaughters infidels in the name of Islam is rank lunacy. When will we learn? In sum, I like how one anonymous wit put it:
The Orlando shooting in a nutshell:
Terrorists: “We did this because our holy texts exhort us to do it.”
Regressive Left: “No you didn’t.”
Terrorist: “Wait, what? Yes we did…”
Regressive Left “No, this has nothing to do with religion. You guys are just using religion as a front for social and geopolitical reasons.”
Terrorist: “WHAT!? Did you even read our official statement? We give explicit Quranic justification. This is jihad, a holy crusade against pagans, blasphemers, and disbelievers.”
Regressive Left: “No, this is definitely not a Muslim thing. You guys are not true Muslims, and you defame a great religion by saying so.”
Terrorist: “Huh!? Who are you to tell us we’re not true Muslims!? Islam is literally at the core of everything we do, and we have implemented the truest most literal and honest interpretation of its founding texts. It is our very reason for being.”
Regressive Left: “Nope. We created you. We installed a social and economic system that alienates and disenfranchises you, and that’s why you did this. We’re sorry.”
Terrorist “What? Why are you apologizing? We just slaughtered you mercilessly in the streets. We targeted unwitting civilians – disenfranchisement doesn’t even enter into it!”
Regressive Left “Listen, it’s our fault. We don’t blame you for feeling unwelcome and lashing out.”
Terrorist “Seriously, stop taking credit for this! We worked really hard to pull this off, and we’re not going to let you take it away from us.”
Regressive Left “No, we nourished your extremism. We accept full blame.”
Terrorist “OMG, how many people do we have to kill around here to finally get our message across?”
