Rep. Nancy Pelosi began exhibiting signs of severe dysfunctional reality ten years ago when she boldly told the American people that they needed to pass the Affordable Care Act in order of find out what’s in it. I still don’t think she had any clue of what she really said. When you think about it, passing a piece of legislation without knowing everything the bill does is no different than someone signing a contract without reading it first or borrowing money from anyone without knowing what the loan will end up costing.
Within a couple of years of Obamacare in effect, the vast majority of Americans saw the cost of their healthcare skyrocket and along with their medical accessibility decrease. They were paying more for less. Additionally, millions of Americans lost their healthcare coverage due to the restriction and costs of Obamacare.
That’s when Pelosi took the stage and microphone and told America that the Affordable Care Act was working because it was lowering the cost of healthcare, increased medical availability and was providing healthcare coverage for millions of Americans.
Over the past decade, I have seen increasing signs of dementia in Pelosi. She has babbled at times, had brain fogs when speaking and has a record of saying a number of outrageous things that are as far from the truth and reality as the moon is from earth.
The stalemate between President Donald Trump and Democrats over funding a border wall, Pelosi once again exhibited her dementia driven separation with reality.
President Trump announced that he could declare a national security emergency and use military funding to build the border wall. That’s when Pelosi accused Trump of wanting to abolish Congress and make himself the sole power of the government.
In reality, Trump does have the authority and power to do just as he said, but in no way is he trying to abolish Congress and establish himself as a dictator.
Pelosi needs to be reminded of when Barack Obama, without the legal power or authority overrode or bypassed Congress on numerous occasions. The Constitution says that any law created by and passed by Congress can only be changed by Congress or an act of a federal court. There is NO provision that gives any president the right to assume the authority of Congress and make changes to any of their laws.
How many times did Obama arbitrarily announce that he was making a change to the Affordable Care Act? He changed effective dates on several provisions, all without going through Congress first.
Obama chose to change how federal immigration laws were to be enforced, again, without first going through Congress.
When the Islamic terrorist organization, Muslim Brotherhood, was in control of Egypt, Congress froze over $50 million in funding along with the sale of 20 F-16 fighter jets to Egypt. Without first going through Congress, Obama decided to free up the funding and allow the sale of the fighter jets to proceed.
These were blatant violations of the Constitution and a usurping of the powers and authority or Congress, but through them all, Pelosi was silent. Yet, the second Trump suggests that he MIGHT do something that is legal for him to do, Pelosi instantly accuses him of wanting to abolish Congress.
Instead of making her Speaker of the House, she really needed to be committed to someplace that can give her the proper care needed for anyone suffering from dementia.
