Mosques Shootings Not a Clear and Present Danger – Unlike Jihad Terrorism

In attacks on two mosques in Christ Church, New Zealand on Friday, 50 died. While reprehensible, compared to Islamic terrorism since 9/11, that’s small potatoes.

Predictably, Islamophobia was singled out as the culprit for the slaying. That’s a broad term which covers any whisper of criticism of the religion of peace, including those who condemned the anti-Semitism of Rep. Ilhan Omar. For the left, to criticize militant Islam is to invite such carnage – a deadly device for silencing dissent.

The media is calling the man under arrest for the shootings a racist and an Islamophobe. But in the gunman’s 74-page manifesto, he called himself a white nationalist, a fascist, and an environmentalist who hated the “1%” and thought the People’s Republic of China was the nation most closely aligned with his political and social views. The document reads like a combination of the very deep thoughts of Bernie Sanders, David Duke and Daffy Duck.

To put the Mosque shootings in perspective, here’s a sampling of Islamic terrorism since  9/11 (officially, 2,996 dead): March 11, 2004 – Madrid train bombings (191 dead); September 1, 2004 – Beslan, North Ossetia school siege (300 dead); July 7, 2005 – London, suicide bombings of underground trains (52 dead); November 26, 2008 – Mumbai, India, 60-hour siege by Pakistani militants (166 dead); April 2, 2015 – Kenya, gunmen storm college campus (150 dead); October 31, 2015 – Egypt, bomb placed on a Russian plane (224 dead), November 13, 2015 — Paris,  Bataclan Theater massacre and related murders (130 dead); December 2, 2015 – San Bernardino,  California, Muslim couple shoot-up an office Christmas party (14 dead);  November 7, 2016 – Nice, France, Bastille Day truck attack (84 dead); June 12, 2016 – Orlando night club shootings (49 dead); and January 17, 2019 — Nairobi, attack on hotel complex (21 dead).

While the Christ Church killings were universally condemned, the foregoing were mostly treated as business as usual for militant Islam – which they were.

A Wikipedia page lists 134 terrorist groups worldwide, all save two dozen are aligned with Islam. The infidels are strictly farm league, among them Basque separatists, IRA splinter groups, and Tamil whatever.

Among the groups we hear about almost daily are Boko Haram, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, ISIS, the Taliban, Abu Sayyaf, Abu Nidal, and the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade.

The League of Bernie, Duke and Daffy doesn’t have tens of thousands of fighters, training camps around the world, support from national governments, and hundreds of millions in funding.

While awful, the shootings at the New Zealand mosques, the Pittsburgh synagogue, and black and white churches in the United States are the work of freelance nut jobs, or groups that could caucus in a phone booth (if we still had them). Jihad terrorism – in business since 622 AD — is THE clear and present danger to Western Civilization.
