❖ Eric Scheidler
Eric Scheidler is a walking encyclopedia on the subject of abortion and in particular, Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider. Here he provides an update on abortion and that includes the surprise success of the film, UNPLANNED on the Abby Johnson story. Eric Scheidler, the executive director of the Pro-Life Action League, joins Jerry Newcombe for a pro-life update—including some nefarious laws being passed or proposed, like those in Illinois, where they are trying to pass more liberal laws on abortion than what was passed recently in New York. www.prolifeaction.org
❖ Abby Johnson
Abby Johnson used to run the Bryan, Texas Planned Parenthood clinic. She became pro-life, virtually overnight, when she witnessed the sonogram of a 13-week unborn baby killed in an abortion. She left the clinic and is now actively engaged in pro-life activities. She has written a book, UNPLANNED, and also a new book, THE WALLS ARE TALKING. Abby notes, “Those of us that have worked in the abortion industry all live with a constant burden….We have seen death and evil in a way that most haven’t—and we participated. But we are forgiven.” Abby Johnson is the subject of the surprise-hit pro-life movie, UNPLANNED, in the theaters as of right now. Abby Johnson joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss what actually goes on in the clinics. www.abbyjohnson.org [an encore presentation]
❖ Wesley J. Smith
Many today are clamoring for “Medicare for All.” But is that really a good idea? Wesley J. Smith, a leading bio-ethicist and a senior fellow with the Discovery Institute, is an author and a columnist whose work often appears in National Review, etc. Smith writes “Specifically, if the bill [“Medicare for All Act of 2019”] becomes law, kiss ‘medical conscience’ goodbye. Medical-conscience laws protect doctors and other medical professionals from being forced to provide services against their religious or moral beliefs, most notably, around abortion and sterilization.” Wesley J. Smith joins Jerry Newcombe on Vocal Point to discuss the implications of this bill. www.discovery.org
❖ Dr. Gary Habermas
Dr. Gary Habermas is a leading scholar on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. At Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (Liberty University), he is a Distinguished Research Professor and the Chair of the Department of Philosophy. He has studied the resurrection for decades now and has written or co-written 21 books specifically on the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Dr. Habermas joins Jerry Newcombe to discuss his “Minimal Facts” approach to the resurrection—showing that even skeptical scholars have to acknowledge some important historical facts, all of which point to the conclusion that Jesus rose from the dead. www.garyhabermas.com [an encore presentation]
