If you assist anyone with a crime, you could and should face criminal charges and jail time. If you know of a crime and say nothing, you can still be held legally liable for that crime because you did nothing to stop it.
Therefore, should not all politicians who support sanctuary status to protect illegal aliens also be held legally liable for the crimes the protected illegal aliens commit? Shouldn’t a judge who sets an illegal free also be held legally liable if that illegal, who should have been sentenced to prison, commits a crime?
Consider just a few recent reports I easily found:
1- A 16-year-old was stabbed by three members of the violent MS-13 gang. The stabbing took place behind a Burger King on Long Island. One of the gang members accused of the stabbing is 19-year-old Ramon Arevalo Lopez:
“Lopez had been picked up by the Department of Homeland Security in October 2017 after entering the United States illegally on Dec. 8, 2016, police said. But a federal judge ordered him released from custody in June 2018. According to The Intercept, authorities had identified Lopez as a likely gang member but the federal judge, Robert Sweet, 95, claimed that the government was breaking the law by holding Lopez.”
“Arevalo Lopez “made admissions” to committing the stabbing, Suffolk District Attorney Timothy Sini told Newsday.”
Lopez’s two MS-13 gang companions were also released back out onto the streets by Judge Sweet.
Note that Robert Sweet, who is actually 96, was appointed as a judge in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York in 1978 by liberal know-nothing President Jimmy Carter.
2- Felix Silva Zuniga, a 52-year-old illegal alien from Honduras and known to be an associate of MS-13, has been charged with coercing a 14-year-old girl into having sex with him in Montgomery County, Maryland. He also is charged with filming the sex act and using it to blackmail her into having more sex with him. It wasn’t until his arrest for violating the minor that he was finally slated by ICE for deportation. However, if convicted of the charges against him, he could face up to 47-years in prison. Mind you that Nancy Pelosi says Trump’s crisis with illegal aliens is just made up. Tell that to the girl and her family.
3- Jose Manuel Tiscareno Hernandez, a 31-year-old illegal from Mexico has been deported numerous times, but thanks to the lax border policies of Obama and the Democrats, he managed to keep finding his way into the country. This time, he is charged by Montgomery County, Maryland officials for sexually molesting an 11-year-old child on more than once occasion. An arrest warrant has been issued, but reports are that he has headed back across the border to avoid being arrested here in the US. Hey, Speaker Pelosi – still not a crisis?
How many victims does it take for it to be a crisis in the eyes of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi? I dare Pelosi to visit each victim and their families and explain to them why she says there is no crisis and why she opposes protecting America and the American people from these vicious illegal aliens. Pelosi needs to look each victim in the face and tell them their ordeal doesn’t amount to anything.
I still firmly believe that every politician who votes for sanctuary needs to not only be held legally liable for the actions of the illegals they are protecting, but also face federal charges, one count for each illegal alien being protected in their area. The charges should be obstruction of justice, violation of federal immigration laws and a charge of treason against the United States. Once they start finding themselves convicted of felonies and sitting in crowded jail cells, will the message get out that what they are doing is legally and morally wrong and that anyone doing them will have to pay a penalty!
The same is true for judges like Judge Robert Sweet who lets these criminals back out on the streets to victimize more people. They also need to spend time in jail for being accomplices to the crimes!
