If you recall just a few short months ago, Democrats and the mainstream media were all up in arms over the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court. There were two foundational reasons that there was so much opposition to Kavanaugh.
First, he was appointed by President Donald Trump. Democrats and the mainstream media have vowed to do whatever they can to destroy the presidency of Trump. Therefore, they would oppose anyone he nominated to the Supreme Court, even if they were more liberal than Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
Second, Kavanaugh had a reputation of being a constitutional judge, meaning that he used the US Constitution as the primary basis for most of his judicial decisions. Democrats and the mainstream media want judges and justices who rule based upon their own political and personal beliefs, not on the Constitution or rule of law.
However, Democrats knew that these reasons would never prevent Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, so they had to come up with some sort of character attack that would cast doubt on him as a person, let alone a judge.

Hence the whole scandal of the alleged and still unconfirmed sexual assault of a girl from back in high school. Democrats paraded poor Professor Christine Blasey Ford in front of the Senate and all of America. They used her as a pawn to assassinate the character of Kavanaugh. In the past, many an appointee would back down from the allegations rather than put his or her family through the ordeal, but Kavanaugh showed he was different. He was strong and defended himself through an interrogation and disgraceful display that no honest person should ever be submitted to.
In the end, Kavanaugh succeeded in defending his character and reputation and Prof. Ford was sent home ridiculed, disgraced and destroyed at the hands of the Democrats, but they didn’t care about her at all. All they cared about was destroying a good and honest judge.
Through the Kavanaugh confirmation debacle, a number of Senate Democrats declared that Kavanaugh was unfit to be on the Supreme Court because he had made it known in the past that he was pro-life. His pro-life bias, they claim was sufficient reason to prevent Kavanaugh from serving on the highest court in the land where his bias just might impact some of his rulings, including Roe v. Wade.
If Democrats are right in that assertion about Kavanaugh, then Ruth Bader Ginsburg should never have been confirmed to be on the Supreme Court. On what grounds?
Have you see the commercials or trailers for the new movie supposedly based on Ginsburg’s early career? The movie is titled – On the Basis of Sex.
According to the official movie website:
“On the Basis of Sex is inspired by the true story of a young Ruth Bader Ginsburg – then a struggling attorney and new mother – who faces adversity and numerous obstacles in her fight for equal rights throughout her career.”
“When Ruth takes on a groundbreaking tax case with her husband, attorney Martin Ginsburg, she knows it could change the direction of her career and the way the courts view gender discrimination. The film also chronicles the storybook-like romance between Ruth and Marty, a partnership that succeeded both personally and professionally.”
Obviously, Ginsburg was biased on a number of issues that she desired to help change, a bias that has been obviously carried over to her rulings on the Supreme Court.
Therefore, if Democrats want to be fair, there is more reason why Ginsburg should never have been nominated or confirmed to the Supreme Court, than there was to prevent Kavanaugh from serving on the high court. But then, who ever said that Democrats want to play fair?
