The Pilgrims undertook a long, arduous and dangerous journey across the ocean is a small wooden ship, knowing that they were going to the unknown wilderness. They were risking their lives and futures for the ability to worship God as they believed they ought to. They were freeing religious persecution because they refused to conform to the erroneous state religion of their homeland.

Chances are, if today’s mainstream media were to cover the Pilgrims from long ago, they would label them as religious fanatics and probably refer to them as undocumented immigrants. They would use the Pilgrims to justify opening the borders today to accept all of the illegal migrants that are amassing at our border.

The media coverage would mock the Pilgrims and their strict religious way of life. They would mock them for living their faith, something that few Christians do today.

A few years ago, under the Barack Obama administration, a Christian family from Germany, Romeike, sought asylum here in the United States because they wanted to homeschool their kids. Like the Pilgrims, they fled religious persecution.

However, the Obama administration spent several years and tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars trying to deport the family, simply because they were Christians. Eventually the Romeike family was allowed to remain, but not after a long legal fight.

At the same time, the Obama administration allowed tens of thousands of immigrants and refugees into the country, including many Muslims, while working hard to deport one Christian family.

So, yes, there is no doubt that if today’s mainstream media were to cover the arrival of the Pilgrims on the Mayflower, the news would have been largely negative and chances are, they would have used them in some way to push their anti-American agenda as they do today.
