2 Corinthians 3:17
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
One could conversely surmise that where the Spirit of the Lord is not, there is no freedom.
Where is the Spirit of God in America?
The Spirit of the Lord cannot be in the presence of sin and America is drowning in it. Therefore, as we compound sin, our freedom is leached away as we descend further from the liberty that life in the Spirit has afforded our nation over the centuries.
Sadly, we are rapidly hurtling toward a post-Christian America and the Constitution will no longer be adequate to restrain the populace.
John Adams warned of such a time.
Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, • would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
If we reject God, who then keeps us from killing each other- murdering the innocent- raping and pillaging our way across the land?
Someone or something must or there will be anarchy.
Mankind will be controlled if it cannot control itself.
William Penn, another of our Founding Father’s, had some insight in regards to this when he said:
“Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants.”
The Democratic, Liberal Progressive, anti-Christian movement in America is Satan’s attempt to wrest controlling interest in the affairs of man from God. Anti-Christian social justice warriors are the tyrants that will keep the “evil” from preying on the “just” even as they change the definitions of what justice and evil are. Good will be called evil and evil will be called good.
If man no longer wants God, His Word or The Constitution to rule over them, and instruct them in the ways of good and evil, then the powers of Hell are more than willing to offer a substitute.
We have spit in the face of our Savior one too many times.
- Gay Marriage
- Editing of Scripture
- Idol Worship
- Lying Tongues
Let’s not forget the other sins that we, as a nation, have been normalizing for centuries. These “little foxes” have done much to sully the once bountiful vineyard of America’s Godly heritage.
- Drug Abuse
God requires our submission to His authority and He will get it, one way or another.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
It may well take a tyrannical governmental regime to bring us to our knees. We have seen a foreshadowing of tyranny for the last eight years. Fifty-percent of our population welcome the control administered by “big-brother” as they throw off both the Bible and, co-equally, the ability of the Constitution to maintain order among a disgruntled populace.
As our citizenry continues to rattle their sabres and groan for a helping hand from the powers-that-be, for whatever imagined or real, “injustice” has been done to us, are we not still clamoring for a tyrant to rule us, instead of begging a loving heavenly Father to forgive us, provide for us and raise us up once again?
We are entering a very dangerous place in our history, America. We must take great care to make sure we aren’t furthering our downward spiral into bondage by preferring the tyranny of godlessness over the freedom of life within the confines of Biblical Liberty.
Sometimes God gives us exactly what we ask for.
1 Samuel 8:6-9
But the thing was displeasing in the sight of Samuel when they said, “ Give us a king to judge us. “And Samuel prayed to the LORD. And the LORD said to Samuel, “Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them. “Like all the deeds which they have done since the day that I brought them up from Egypt even to this day — in that they have forsaken Me and served other gods — so they are doing to you also. “Now then, listen to their voice; however, you shall solemnly warn them and tell them of the procedure of the king who will reign over them.”
We are being told in the news every day exactly what the procedures of the King we have had and the King we are currently electing will be, but we don’t care, at least not enough to stop it.
Our final two candidates for the Presidency are proof that we have no concern for Godly principles and haven’t for a very long time.
1 Samuel 10-18
So Samuel spoke all the words of the LORD to the people who had asked of him a king. And he said, “This will be the procedure of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and place them for himself in his chariots and among his horsemen and they will run before his chariots. “And he will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and of fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. “He will also take your daughters for perfumers and cooks and bakers. “And he will take the best of your fields and your vineyards and your olive groves, and give them to his servants. “And he will take a tenth of your seed and of your vineyards, and give to his officers and to his servants “He will also take your male servants and your female servants and your best young men and your donkeys, and use them for his work. “He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his servants. Then you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day.
We are teetering on the brink of going the way of Sodom and Gomorrah. God turning His back on us, turning His face from us, just as He was forced to do when His beloved Son bore all the sin of mankind and cried ” My God, why has thou forsaken me!”
Almighty God has no choice – He is Holy, but He is also just to forgive us.
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
It breaks my heart that as I write this article just prior to the 240th Independence Day Celebration in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave, that the message weighing upon my heart is not one of celebration, but of warning. In fact, it seems a central theme in much of my writing of late. I pray that God lays something humorous on my heart soon!
There is, however, always Good News!
Jesus Christ is still the King of Kings.
He is still on the throne and He still inhabits the praises of His people.
Lift up your hearts in praise my peculiar family – citizens of heaven – those that are not of this world.
I hear Gabriel tuning up his horn.
