Even The Arab World Grows Tired Of Hamas

Middle East experts agree that the recent violence in the Gaza Strip is different this time around. The main combatants are the same: Israel and Hamas. So are their weapons of war: rockets, bullets, and suicide vests.

What’s changed is that Arab nations usually quick to condemn Israel for incursions into Gaza have remained silent. Their patience for radical Islam has become so thin that they view Hamas as a bigger evil than even Israel. One CNN commentator calls the silence “unprecedented.”

At least four Arab states—Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates—have aligned themselves with Israel. In a recent New York Times article, Aaron David Miller, a former Middle East negotiator under several presidents, said those countries’ “loathing and fear” of Hamas “outweighs” their disdain for Israel.

“I have never seen a situation like it, where you have so many Arab states acquiescing in the death and destruction in Gaza and the pummeling of Hamas. … The silence is deafening.”

It appears that at least part of the Arab world has finally had its fill of radical Islam. (However, Hamas can still count Qatar and Turkey among its allies.) The fact that four Arab nations are distancing themselves from the terror group should speak volumes to the Obama administration and Congress.

With Hamas as part of its “unity government,” the Palestinian Authority cannot be considered legitimate.

The United States gives approximately $500 million a year to the Palestinian Authority, which formed its “unity government” with Hamas two months ago. As I mentioned previously, this internationally designated Foreign Terrorist Organization was able to build $2 billion worth of tunnels and accumulate an arsenal of 10,000 rockets.

Congress needs to be 100-percent sure that American taxpayers are NOT funding the reprehensible actions and ideology of a terror group that calls for the murder of Israelis and the destruction of the State of Israel. The only way to do that is to stop providing financial support to the Palestinian Authority.

Even if you’ve sent “Defund the Palestinian Authority” faxes in the past, we invite you to take action again. Click here now to demand lawmakers stop funding Israel’s enemies!)
