When Barack Obama nominated Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor to the US Supreme Court, Republicans were unhappy and did what they could, LEGALLY, to prevent the confirmation of either woman, but they were still confirmed and are now members of the highest court in the land.
It was known before their confirmations that they would rule largely on their liberal Democratic agenda instead of the rule of law, but that made no difference to Democrats.
When Brett Kavanaugh was nominated by President Donald Trump, Democrats went ballistic.
They called Kavanaugh all kinds of names because he has the reputation of being a fair, honest judge who rules on the Constitution and law more than on agenda.
Less than 24-hours after Kavanaugh was confirmed and given the oath of office, Democrats in Washington are already talking about impeaching Kavanaugh.
(Fox News) – Before and immediately after the Senate narrowly voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court on Saturday, top Democrats vowed that they would continue to fight — not only at the ballot box in November’s midterm elections, but also through further investigations and potentially even impeachment proceedings afterwards.
On Saturday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced she planned to file a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to obtain documents related to the FBI’s supplemental probe of Kavanaugh, which senators said showed no corroboration of the decades-old sexual misconduct allegations against him. FBI background checks on judicial nominees have traditionally been kept confidential so that only senators, White House officials, and certain aides can view them.
“In purposefully limiting the FBI investigation, it is clear the Republicans were not seeking the truth,” Pelosi, D-Calif., wrote in a statement. “They were seeking cover to do what they wanted to do anyway. To add insult to injury, they blocked the public’s access to the report.” …
Democrats had no problem stacking the Supreme Court with agenda driven liberals.
It was their liberals on the Supreme Court who ruled the Defense of Marriage Act to be unconstitutional.
It was their liberals on the Supreme Court who legalized same-sex marriage, giving them privileged rights over the vast majority of Americans.
The last thing Democrats want is for the Supreme Court being stacked with conservatives who will rule on the Constitution, a document hated by most Democrats.
