Boy Scouts Facing Sexual Misconduct Litigation & Bankruptcy

Growing up, I couldn’t wait to be old enough to join the Boy Scouts.

As I grew older, I was a member of the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts and achieved the rank of Life Scout and was only 2 merit badges shy of Eagle when I quit for personal reasons.

May parents and older brothers were also active in Boy Scouts, mostly because it was a wholesome and Christian based organization that taught many life lessons and skills.

Then Boy Scouts abandoned their Christian morals and foundation and allowed homosexuals to join.

Next, Boy Scouts allowed homosexuals to be leaders and then they opened up to allow girls to join.

Now, the Boy Scouts are facing allegations of sexual misconduct and reports that they are on the verge of filing for bankruptcy.

USA Today – Boy Scouts deflects report of bankruptcy prep in face of sexual misconduct litigation – The Boy Scouts of America deflected a report that the youth group might file for bankruptcy protection in the face of increasing sexual misconduct litigation, saying “no imminent actions or immediate decisions” are expected.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that the youth organization was considering bankruptcy in the face of  dwindling membership and mounting legal costs. The law firm Sidley Austin LLP was hired to explore options, the newspaper reported.

The law firm did not immediately respond to a request for comment from USA TODAY.

Michael B. Surbaugh, chief scout executive, issued a statement “in anticipation of news reports that will speculate about the BSA’s financial position.” He said the group was working with experts he did not name to explore all options aimed at ensuring that the group’s programming continues uninterrupted…

This news is not surprising and predicted by many, including myself when Boy Scouts opted to choose the worldly ways of sin instead of their Christian foundation.

When they did that, many parents pulled their sons out of the Boys Scouts.

Additionally, many sponsor organizations, mostly churches, withdrew their sponsorship.

Consequently, the loss of dues and revenues dropped precipitously along with the membership.

Frankly, I hope that the Boy Scouts are forced to fold up and exist no more as result of their anti-Christian policies.
