If a person takes time to listen to what others say, they can learn a lot and that’s what happened when watching a Major League baseball game. The conversation was brief, but it spoke volumes about the dangers of allowing Democrats to win control of our federal government.
I’m a big baseball fan, both in size and routing for the sport. My favorite team is the St. Louis Cardinals. Since I work from home, I subscribe to MLB.com through my cable company so I can watch all of the Cardinals games along with games of other teams.
One of the players on the Cardinals team, Jose Martinez, is from Venezuela. The Cardinals announcers were talking about Martinez and his homeland. The announcers were complimenting Martinez about his ability to put the troubles of his home country and family away when he plays baseball and not let it bother him. It must not bother him because Martinez is currently batting 0.346.
They went on to say that Martinez, along with another player from Venezuela, send part of their paycheck to their families back in Venezuela because conditions there are so difficult. People don’t have money and many are starving.

However, Martinez told the announcers that the money doesn’t always reach his family because the government opens some of the mail, looking for money and other items to seize that would have helped the people.
This got me realizing that what they were describing could be America under the rule of Democrats.
Venezuela is in crisis because of their socialist government and the dictatorship of Nicolas Maduro.
Venezuela has government provided healthcare, just like what America’s Democrats want here in the United States. The Venezuelan healthcare system is so good that hundreds of pregnant women have crossed the border into Columbia to have their babies.
The socialists in Venezuela have imposed numerous tax increases, just like what America’s Democrats are saying they will do if they regain control. The high taxes in Venezuela have resulted in the loss of many jobs and run-away inflation. As inflation increased, Venezuela’s socialists would raise taxes even more.
The joblessness, high taxes, run away inflation and devaluation of the currency in Venezuela has also led to widespread crime and violence. When people have no money, no food, no job and no hope, they tend to turn violent and are forced to starve or victimize others.
And, as I learned from the baseball announcers, the socialist government in Venezuela is now intercepting and opening much of the mail of their people and stealing money and other items sent to them by relatives and friends outside the country. Hence, there is no privacy with the mail or many other areas of life. Don’t forget that under socialist Barack Obama, the government was caught spying on millions of Americans, a clear invasion of our privacy.
Millions of millennials have been so blinded by their 12 years of socialist indoctrination in the public school system that they fail to see and understand that what is happening in Venezuela is the result of what they are wanting to do here in the US. They also fail to understand that everywhere socialism has been tried, it has failed.
