Damian Goddard is a 20+-year veteran of television and radio broadcasting. Recently appearing as a news anchor on Sun News Network, Goddard has spent much of his career covering sports for Rogers Sportsnet, Leafs TV, Raptors NBA TV, The Score, and the CBC. His wide-ranging interests and impassioned delivery on issues affecting the culture also garnered him a spot as a talk show host on Canada's top-rated, talk radio station, NewsTalk 1010 (CFRB).
A devoted and life-long Roman Catholic, Goddard made international news headlines in May of 2011. It wasn't for anything he said on the tv studio set, but for a tweet he delivered from his home computer. The tweet upheld his belief in the "traditional and TRUE meaning of marriage". The following day, Goddard was fired from Rogers Sportsnet where he served as one of the network’s lead sports anchors. He subsequently filed a case against Rogers Communications with the Canadian Human Rights Commission. In the Spring of 2013, the CHRC dismissed the case.
Goddard is lovingly devoted to his wife of 14 years, Andrea, and they have two young children - Evelyn (6) and Lukas (4). They make their Christ-centred home in Oakville, Ontario.
