Are We Appealing to Heaven?

In 1775 George Washington created the flag for our nation’s Navy. It had a white background and the words, “An appeal to heaven” and a green pine tree.

The pine symbolized resisting the British practice of claiming and confiscating American trees for ship masts and the words reminded a young nation struggling against a vastly superior force to rely on the Lord.

Today we are still fighting oppressive forces that are subverting our personal and religious freedom. Americans once again need to appeal to heaven to stop government intrusion and to restore and revere our Christian heritage.
