Like Moss, The Brand New Thing in the Church Hates Challenges

(Acts 17:21)  (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

Itching ears leads to skewed ideology and false doctrine. That is what is wrong with not only the Secular-World, but with much of the Church. Individuals and groups constantly seeking some new-thing, then the new-thing needs feeding, then to nourish this new-thing, they seek affirmation, and when they do not find it they go elsewhere seeking the confirmation of this new-thing. Once this cycle of new-thing and affirmation is completed and the mind becomes hardened to truth and softened to error, some new-thing, which relates to the former, is sought, added and compounded, which promulgates and affirms a whole new-thing.

A complete new doctrine or philosophy by now has grown from the new-thing and its related compounds, which reflects the new image of the individual or group. To grow, the person or group needs an environment to flourish, and teachers will be found who will not challenge this new-doctrine or they will choose a leader from amongst them to instruct, feed and push the cause farther along, gathering others as moss on a stone.

Moss on its own well may be in or around a lawn but will not take it over, moss to be truly successful needs surroundings which offers no rivalry. Therefore, if someone wants to grow moss, the key is not what will create moss in an area, but to ascertain what allows moss to develop. This is achieved through a lack of competition — from other plants, loose stones or irregular surfaces, and of course moss requires moisture.[1]

Like moss, this new doctrine, or civic policy of the group or individual, is made up of many new-things. This teaching or dogma, cannot withstand interference if it is to grow. It, like moss, must have an atmosphere of solitude, where opposition is at a minimum. This problem is evident not only in the Church, but in the secular arena, where Liberal thinking is afraid, no, terrified of opposing ideas, ideals, and the speech which carries these competitive notions and principles.

Recently, we have seen this demonstrated repeatedly, in colleges across our land, where Conservatives have often been barred from speaking, or have been shouted down, along with Conservative students and their organizations being marginalized and heavily restricted.

Often, to the Liberal, dissenting speech is considered violence, as in micro-aggressions, and morality spoken of, is down-right hate speech. This Conservative-speak is discordant with their life-styles and choices, and the Liberal must cordon an area, creating a safe space, to take up the Liberal cause without interruption or rejoinder.

(2 Timothy 4:3)  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

(2 Timothy 4:4)  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

To maintain that all Liberal ideas come from a nefarious position is wrong-headed. These social justice Liberal plans may indeed come from misguided sympathy or incorrect interpretation of the Bible.

Albert Barnes wrote regarding the verses in 2 Timothy:

They would have those who would coincide with their whims; who would foster every vagary which might enter their imagination; who would countenance every wild project for doing good; who would be the advocates of the errors which they held; and who would be afraid to rebuke their faults.

But wrong is wrong, and a false doctrine or strategy is still untrue, regardless of impetus. And, so it is with Liberal central planning, and the involvement of the Church with false teachings which buttress the Liberal plans. According to Bible, the Christian or the Church is not to be conformed to World (the mores on the era in which we live), but stand apart and upon the never changing Word of God.[2]

Many Christians and a large portion of the Church have fallen to wiles of the Liberal, which is only window dressing covering to some extent the true nature of the modern Liberal. This modern Liberal movement is nothing more than another name for Socialism, Communism or Collectivism. These types of leadership appeal to numerous Christians because of their social staging, equal pay, universal health coverage, poor against the rich. But these common

These ideologies use sociological engineering playing on the natural instincts of a person, concerning independence of thought and provision, and shame of actions taken. As well, the Liberal plans use innate human empathy to establish programs which on the surface appear to equalize living standards across wide spectrum, which in the end, destabilizes a country financially. Besides the weakening of a nation, this central planning, and politically correct atmosphere drives wedges between fellow citizens, where everything is an offense. For, if the Conservative is not for the social program, and sensitive to the catch-phrases and newly banned words, then they are considered heartless, cruel, bigoted, selfish and not willing to pay their fair share.

These ideologies and doctrines begin with a call for tolerance and diversity, love, respect, distribution of wealth to ensure the comfortable existence of all. Eventually, these self-appointed defenders of all that is unholy wear the jack-boots of totalitarianism, where nothing is acceptable, excepting what is deemed tolerant and diverse according to the latest extensions of their philosophy or dogmata.

If you have not taken notice lately, we are there: lost in a dystopic, frighteningly Orwellian world, where freedom of traditional Christian Biblical practice is frowned on, and Conservative and Christian thought is tantamount to hate-crimes. Leftist anarchy lies before us, and the definition of peaceful demonstration is changing daily, wearing a new garment, one fashioned out of false doctrines and communistic values, a vestment of violence.

Let us pray and work to amend the wayward path our nation is on, let us redirect our country toward Christ Jesus and Conservative ideas, and once again attempt to be the City shining on hill.[3]

[2] (Romans 12:2)  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

[3] (Proverbs 14:34)  Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

(Matthew 5:14)  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
