Washington D.C. Shooting Inspires Congress to ‘Pack Heat’

Faith and Freedom with Liberty Counsel’s Mat Staver and Holly Meade, and Founder Matt Barber… An 11-minute weekday radio program discussing hot topics in the area of religious liberty, the sanctity of human life and the family.

After the shooting of Representative Scalise and others, Congress now wants to pack heat, to be able to carry concealed weapons.

Mat Staver: Well there is some move by members of Congress to exempt them from the D.C. laws regarding carrying concealed weapons. Frankly, I think they ought to change the laws in D.C. regarding the carrying of concealed weapons. In the nation’s capital you can’t carry concealed weapons.

If Representative Scalise had not been at this baseball practice, had his security contingency not been there, there would have been mass carnage that would have been committed by this shooter in Washington, D.C.

But now, of course, what has happened is there’s a discussion by members of Congress to exempt them, frankly I think they ought to just go against the bad laws that frankly, I think, are unconstitutional in the District of Columbia. It has one of the strictest gun laws in the nation.

Matt Barber: Yea, and isn’t it ironic that all of the nations, and even countries…you think of France, for instance with the horrible night club shooting…
