Radical Feminism vs. Biblical Complimentarianism

By J. Davila Ashcraft

Recently a high school junior in Cypress, Texas decided to conduct an experiment to demonstrate just how intolerant radical feminism really is. High schooler Kerby Martin went to Twitter to post a photo of herself wearing a t-shirt with the word “#Meninist” on it. Within minutes this teen girl received hundreds of hate filled responses, including one suggesting the girl should be raped so she would understand the feminist struggle. Another person stated their hope that she choke and die. And all of this hate from- you guessed it- women who identify as feminists. 1

One radical feminist leader in Australia, Sarrah Le Marquand, suggests that stay-at-home-moms be illegal. She writes, “Rather than wail about the supposed liberation in a woman’s right to choose to shun paid employment, we should make it a legal requirement that all parents of children of school age or older are gainfully employed.” 2

And let’s not forget the Women’s March earlier this year in Washington, where organizers made it clear that pro-life women were not welcome. Sickeningly, “sex workers” (your run-of-the-mill prostitute) were welcomed with open arms. 3 And yet we’re to believe the feminist movement actually cares about women’s issues? As commentator Dana Loesch has noted, nobody hates women as much as feminists.

These radical feminists are, in fact, not promoting a true respect for women, but rather a Marxist egalitarianism. That is, rather than recognizing the unique nature and proclivities of psychologically healthy femininity, the radical feminist seeks to assert a sameness- an equality with men not simply on an intellectual or even professional level, but on the level of nature and biology itself. In their world women can quite literally do anything a man can do just as well, if not better.

Healthy Culture

The Four Pillars of a healthy culture are: Faith, Family, Tradition and Culture. The Christian Faith sustains the Christian Family; the Family perpetuates the Faith and apostolic tradition; and Faith, Family and Tradition form the lifeblood of a healthy Christian Culture- a culture that recognizes the personal and social reign of Christ the King. These four pillars, if adhered to by a people, will without compromise naturally produce a healthy Christian culture; a culture that recognizes the unique nature and role of women in society.

Today we do not live in such a world. We live in a world of Cultural Marxism, Relativism, and Immorality. It is an anti-culture and militates against these four pillars through Atheistic Naturalism, sexual “freedom”, promotion of gender as a social construct rather than a natural reality, destruction of the traditional family (one of the goals of radical feminism), multi-culturalism as the only honorable end of a nation (with the long term goal of mono-culture), a production-consumer lifestyle, and ultimately Globalism. This push for “sameness” strips humanity of the unique blessings of each gender, of each people group, and strips them of the dignity of their having been created in the image of God, rendering them slaves to a superstate operated by an oligarchy. This “New World Order” is the Marxists counterfeit of the Kingdom of God.

These disasters find their temporal root in the Enlightenment, and its philosophy of Naturalism. The principles of “Liberty, Equality and Fraternity”-Egalitarian principles of the French Revolution- are the exact opposite of the biblical principle of Complimentarianism.

Egalitarianism and Complimentarianism

Marxist Egalitarianism is the belief that we are all equal, in all ways. This is why radical feminism insists on this “sameness” and hates women who prefer to fulfill their role as is fitting by both the feminine nature and God’s Word. Put short, this sort of egalitarianism is the first step toward socialism. Here we are not speaking of the spiritual egalitarianism given expression by the Apostle Paul.

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”- Galatians 3:28

Though feminists and other radical groups like to quote this verse in support of their socialist agenda, the fact is- under close examination of the context- Paul was not speaking either of nature or of social order, but of our positional relationship to and with Christ. Paul was speaking of a spiritual egalitarianism. However, the Cultural Marxists, if they were to re-write this verse, would give us something akin to, ‘There is neither male or female, gay or straight, morality or immorality, for these are all social constructs that the enlightened global citizen has evolved beyond.’

Traditional gender roles, traditional family, social expectations, economics, etc. are all rejected as repressive, oppressive, and outdated. Even nature itself is defied through the rejection of natural biological gender and sexuality.

When one really thinks about it, these radical forces are insane- out of touch even with reality- the way the world really is according to biology!

Biblical Complimentarianism, on the other hand, recognizes the reality of the world we live in. That is, it recognizes the balance inherent in nature as a matter of creative principle. For example, the relationship between male and female is complimentary; in the procreative act, in the dignity of persons, and in social order. Men and women are not equal with regard to natural ability, proclivity, or sensibilities. Each possesses a strength the other does not. To suggest otherwise is to completely ignore the created order, which is exactly what the Cultural Marxist does by promoting the Evolutionary worldview. Gender exists as a matter of nature-biology- and to deny the reality of gender- to claim it is merely a social construct-is to deny nature, and to deny the complimentary nature of the created world. This complimentarian principle permeates the cosmos down to the cellular level. And yet, for all their faith in Scientism, the radical feminist absolutely rejects these facts of science in favor of their peculiar worldview.

It is indeed insanity.
