David Daleiden CA AG Raid

Acquit While You’re Ahead: David Daleiden Half-Way to Victory

Pro-lifers are halfway home to vindicating the mastermind of the undercover Planned Parenthood videos. In court yesterday, Judge Diane Bull quickly dismissed one of the two misdemeanors cooked up against David Daleiden by Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson. The Texas official, who’s been caught colluding with the abortion group that helped get her elected, had hoped to distract from the evidence that Planned Parenthood was trafficking in the sale of baby body parts. Instead, all she’s accomplished is exposing her own conflict of interest.

As the case has worn on, the cries to pull Anderson off the case have only increased. After she was caught scheming with Planned Parenthood behind the scenes, Anderson brushed off the wrongdoing, insisting (in true liberal fashion!) that her law-breaking was “minor and harmless.” The fact that she gave the evidence to Planned Parenthood before it became public was “inconsequential,” she argued. Instead, Anderson insists, Texans should overlook her bad behavior and focus on Daleiden’s — which, a judge just ruled, does not exist.

Like most of the Left’s trumped up charges, this was nothing but a “politically-motivated sham,” the Center for Medical Progress told reporters. “The dismissal of the first indictment today sends a strong message to Planned Parenthood and their political cronies that colluding to suppress the First Amendment right of citizen journalists will never work.”

David has insisted from the beginning that he followed the laws. It’s too bad that the county’s own prosecutors can’t be bothered to do the same.

In the meantime, we celebrate with David that not even the Left’s desperate attempts at legal sabotage are succeeding. Let’s hope the second half of the case goes the way of the first and Americans can get back to the real issue at hand: Planned Parenthood’s obvious contempt for life — and law.
