Tennessee Passes Bill to Make the Bible the State’s Official Book
(1 min Audio Report – Freedom’s Call)
The Tennessee House and Senate have passed a bill to make the Bible the state’s official book.
No doubt the Bible has had a significant role in the foundation of our nation, as well as in the state of Tennessee. This undisputed historical fact gives Tennessee the constitutional right to select the Bible.
Of course, this does not mandate that anyone must read the Bible, but simply acknowledges the importance and value many people in Tennessee place on God’s Word.
Please pray as Republican Governor Bill Haslam has not indicated if he will sign the bill.
As Christians, we must support this, and Liberty Counsel has offered a pro-bono legal defense of this bill if the governor is fearful of potential criticism.
