Those words from Attorney General Loretta Lynch regarding the question about whether civil legal action will be taken against those who deny man-made climate change.
Rhode Island Democrat Senator Sheldon Whitehouse asked the question of Lynch in the Judiciary Committee this week, comparing the fossil fuel industry’s denial of climate change to the tobacco industry’s denial of the dangers of using tobacco.
Whitehouse pushed for legal action against the climate change deniers, stating that under President Bill Clinton, the Justice Department brought and won a civil case against the tobacco industry.
Attorney General Lynch said, “We have received information about it and have referred it to the FBI…”
They are preparing to tell the fossil fuel industry “Conform to our beliefs or else.”
