Special Session for Marriage
(1 min Audio Report – Faith2Action)
Marriage is special enough to call for a special session.
That’s what defenders of marriage are saying in Texas, where 76 percent of Texas voters voted to protect marriage in their state constitution. But if the court rules wrong, states including Texas, will be forced to violate their state constitutions and their consciences.
But the “Preservation of State Sovereignty and Marriage Act,” will ensure that Texas won’t have to pay for and issue licenses for same-sex so-called marriages no matter what the court does. It was denied a floor vote, but Governor Abbot can change that by calling for a special session.
Call Governor Greg Abbot at (512) 463-2000 and ask him to call for a special session to protect marriage.
