Obama: The Real Enemies of America Are Climate Change Deniers

The equivalent of the Visigoths or the Mongol hordes is ravaging the Middle East and has come to our own shores.

Meanwhile the clinically insane leaders of North Korea threaten to nuke the US. Fire breathing Iranian leaders also threaten nuclear apocalypse. The Iraqi city of Ramadi, formerly controlled by US forces, has fallen.

Real time threats to American security increase daily.

But according to a speech given to the United States Coast Guard by President Obama, climate change and climate change deniers are the most dangerous threat to our national security. Such a claim goes beyond idiocy to near insanity.

Even Charles Krauthammer, who is usually the analytical equivalent of Mr. Spock, was almost — but not quite — without words. Krauthammer said of the president’s insistence that climate change the biggest threat to America and the world, “And the last thing, the scariest of them all, is in the midst of all of this — Ramadi falls, this announcement from North Korea — the president gives an address to the Coast Guard Academy and talks about climate change as the great threat to our national security. That is the scariest of them all.”

Obama’s claim is scary.

But there is within his speech even scarier stuff, the chief one of which is that our President is encouraging the US military to consider as enemies of America people who think differently than him. He is targeting as enemies of the state any Americans who are climate change deniers.

Apparently thought reform is the most urgent battle before us.

According to a report by Jordan Fabian, writing for The Hill, while addressing the new Coast Guard officers in New London, Connecticut, the president opined that “Climate change constitutes a serious threat to global security, an immediate risk to our national security, and, make no mistake, it will impact how our military defends our country. And so we need to act — and we need to act now.”

The president also said temperatures are rising and that “Denying it, or refusing to deal with it, endangers our national security and undermines the readiness of our forces.” [Italics the author’s.]

According to Obama, what has caused the instability in places like Nigeria and Syria? Both disturbances are due to global warming.

But the dangers of global warming and those who oppose the idea that climate change is not America’s most dangerous security risk are not just “over there.” Global warming is having deleterious effects right here in America, where the entire infrastructure is threatened by flooding.

The effects of climate change even menace military bases like the one in Norfolk, Va. “It’s estimated that a further increase in sea level of one foot by the end of this century could cost our nation $200 billion,” Obama said.

The president concluded that refusing to act against the effects of climate change, including acting against those dirty Republicans and other deviants from the correct thinking of global warmists, would be a “dereliction of duty.” He wound up his speech by saying, “It will not be easy. It will require sacrifice, and the politics will be tough, but there is no other way. This will be tough, but so often is the case, our men and women in uniform will show us the way.”

Obama’s clear implication: The worst enemies of America are within the United States. They are folks who question what is revealed, infallible state dogma; namely, that the disastrous effects of the rising tides of the ocean are apocalyptic certainties we must fight now lest the whole world is ruined.

Those who oppose revealed truth of global warming are enemies of the state.

There is nothing an authoritarian government leaning toward tyranny loves more than a vague classification that acts as a catchall net for supposed enemies of the state.

History is replete with examples, including terms like “hooligan,” a label whose amorphous and infinitely flexible meaning was successfully employed by the Soviet government to incarcerate just about anyone it wished to be rid of.

As Brian LaPierre writes:

“Swearing, drunkenness, promiscuity, playing loud music, brawling—in the Soviet Union these were not merely bad behavior, they were all forms of the crime of ‘hooliganism.’ Defined as ‘rudely violating public order and expressing clear disrespect for society,’ hooliganism was one of the most common and confusing crimes in the world’s first socialist state.

Under its shifting, ambiguous, and elastic terms, millions of Soviet citizens were arrested and incarcerated for periods ranging from three days to five years and for everything from swearing at a wife to stabbing a complete stranger.”

Mao Tse Tung’s Cultural Revolution loved the phrases “bourgeois elements,” and “revisionists,” as the term enabled the Red Guard to target anyone it wished, including intellectuals who protested the communist revolution and its results. The list of enemies was endless because adversaries of the revolution were everywhere, including within your own family. The foe of progress could be anyone.

Here in America, it appears the foes of progress are “deniers.”

In view of historical precedent, the question for Americans, including the US military, is this: Just who are these dangerous climate change deniers who are jeopardizing our national security? Just who are these criminally minded haters of truth who are resisting the policies of our current administration?

Perhaps the deniers are intellectuals–scientists and philosophers who, like the late Karl Popper, believe any scientific theory must always be subject to falsifiability.

Maybe one of those climate change deniers endangering national security is a little old grandmother sitting in the church pew singing hymns about the Creator of the universe being in charge of everything, including the weather. She is probably a twofer, as she also may be a “hater” who believes in traditional marriage.

It could be one of those awful deniers was a comedian by the name of George Carlin, who declared humans are incapable of saving the planet as they are subject to 100% mortality while the planet and the weather seem to go on and on with or without them. It may be too late for warmist devotees to rehabilitate him, but maybe his tomb stone could be desecrated? After all, he held heretical beliefs about the planet.

In sum, this administration is once again focusing on a group of Americans perceived as dangerous to the state.

Evidently it has not been enough to use the IRS as a means of targeting the Tea Party and other patriotic organizations as enemies of the state.

Evidently it is not enough to continually stir up racial strife with professional protestors, race mongers and cop haters.

Evidently, it is not enough to persecute American Christians like the subversive little kid who was severely rebuked for reading his Bible during free time. After all, the State has got to nip those creationist types in the bud before they develop into full blown deniers.

As with any authoritarian government bent on eliminating opposition, new targets must continually be found. Climate change deniers apparently are new targets because they stand in the way of the fundamental national and global transformation our president and the progressive elite desire. The fact that real science and much, much else is at stake matters little.

The Left continually complains about the McCarthyism of the 1950’s, especially the Hollywood and governing elite who felt the pressure from Senator McCarthy. What an irony to see those who have complained most loudly in the forefront of a possible new wave of discrimination.
Worse yet to see the possibility that America’s military, pledged to protect and defend the life of every American regardless of his or her beliefs, is being not so subtly urged to regard those who do not go along with the religiosity of true believers in climate change as enemies rather than as fellow citizens they have sworn to protect.

How truly subversive is it to create division within the US military by focusing our soldiers on the supposed wrongful thinking of fellow citizens than on those enemies from without who are determined to destroy America?

This is very, very, dangerous stuff.

The danger will require the US military as well as all Americans to resist the temptation to view fellow citizens as enemies of the state because of their beliefs. It will require Congress to resist the ever encroaching power of the executive branch as it seeks to force Americans to believe the divine revelations of the almighty State.

Finally, it will require American citizens to employ all the means of resistance they are guaranteed by the Constitution. They must resist any indication that this administration is willing to regard sincere American citizens as enemies of the state just because some do not believe in the divine dogma embraced and promulgated by President Obama and his administration.
