CBN News — January 16 was Religious Freedom Day, which commemorated the the 1786 passage of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom.
This statute became the basis for the U.S. Constitution and the First Amendment.
This past year was a banner year for religious liberty cases.
The Supreme Court ruled in the Hobby Lobby Case that the company does not have to set aside its religious convictions on birth control to comply with a government mandate on contraception.
The high court also let a New Mexico ruling stand that said a wedding photographer who refused to photograph a gay wedding was violating the state’s human rights act.
What’s ahead for 2015? CBN News’ spoke with Daniel Blomberg, senior counsel with The Becket Fund talks about recent court decisons and gives projections for 2015.
